Anyone know about this?

Cheers,

Interesting...

I'll assume the games are coming from Amiga, Inc.? I thought they decided to retire after the masterpiece of Snowman Maker... hard to top that.

I always wondered why none of the rom copyright holders (Amiga, Cloanto, whoever), didn't try to go into publishing old games, using a software wrapper (UAE + rom + WB if needed). There are hundreds of old games that would look quite nice on a phone or tablet, where super high resolution, 3D effects, etc. of most modern games isn't needed. It's basically the same as GOG, but in Amiga form.

They should have done it years ago, but I guess better late than never. I have a playbook too, so it could be fun to get some Amiga games on it.

If not Amiga, the Cinemaware people (3rd generation, new owners) are working on iOS ports of some games, so maybe they are behind it. I seem to recall one other company working on Amiga iOS stuff, but I forget their name.

@Nameless

Actually they (Amiga Inc) did plan to release a wrapper/emu combo at one point (2005-2007 era iirc) but as usual the plan went down the drain.

PS: getting software liscenses for old games is a pain in the butt , SONY for instance struggles with permission to upload their old InHouse games to PSN etc.

Yeah I remember this doing the rounds a while back. Can't recall what happened to it though. Think it just fell off the face of the planet. I also remember plans to bring one to the latest BBOS. That too fell off the face of the planet.

But Amiga Inc have no rights over 50 quality games afaik not even mentioning their ability to actually deliver on any promises.

Because they hold the name and rights to the kickstart roms then they have to be part of the deal.
