I'm using the following guide to install WHDLoad in WinUAE, but I can pass step No. 4:

1. Download WHDLoad package from:- Here or www.whdload.de and save it to the programs directory (C:\Program Files\Winuae\Hard Disks\programs)

2. Next re-launch the WinUAE program, left click the config you made, click the Load button and click OK/Start to start emulation.

3. Double click System drive, System directory and then Shell to open CLI/Amiga DOS.

4. Type in:
lha x programs:WHDLoad_usr.lha programs: and press Return/Enter

Since I'm getting the following message "lha: Unknown command"

I did my configuration of Hard Drives using the guide at: http://www.lemonamiga.com/help/tutorial_1/5.php

What am I missing? Please help.

@WeiXing3D

I'm not a WInUAE user but open a shell/ CLI window and type

Dir C: (return)

to see if you have the actual LHA program in your C: directory (where it should be)...

Also I notice in the command you typed there...

"lha x programs:WHDLoad_usr.lha programs: and press Return/Enter"

the part that says "programs:" means it is looking for an assigned drawer/ directory called "programs" where it is expecting to find the actual WHDLoad LHA archive and it then looking to extract the contents of that archive to into the drawer/ directory called "programs"

For that to happen you of course need to have in the first place a drawer/ directory called "programs" and as this drawer in not a standard one in AmigaOS 3.x this would have to have been/ should have been set up by WinUAE during the installation process...

Type
Dir SYS: (Return)

To see if you can find this Directory on your HD and if it's there then type

Assign (Return)

and if you see the directory "programs" in the list that comes up then you know it's there and is assigned...

But I personally think from the error message you reported

"lha: Unknown command"
This means you don't have the actual command/ program "LHA" in your "C:" directory where it should be. WHich can be found out by typing Dir C: (the first thing I mentioned)...

In that case you will have to obtain LHA from somewhere like Aminet and install it into your C directory...

Sorry I can't be much more help but like I say I'm not a WinUAE user and am not sure how it has set up your system but the answer should lie in the things I've mentioned and will from what you have said be most likely not having the actual LHA program in your C: Directory...

Form what you have typed "lha x" and you are getting the error unknown command, go here http://aminet.net/package/util/arc/lha and get the lha.run file.
save this and add the directory to you winuae config and runn it, it gives you various lha files, chose the one that best suits you emulated cpu and copy it the c directory and rename it to just lha and you should be good to go.

@WeiXing3D

You don't need Lha in WinUAE. Use the Add Directory or Archive function of WinUAE to add the whdload archive. Then in AmigaOS enter

copy WHDLoad_usr.lha: programs: all clone
