Hi,

There is E-UAE with EasyUAE GUI for OS4.X but I was wondering if it is available for the E-UAE-amigafx version? I kind of like that GUI frontend.

Cheers,
Coder

@samo79

I noticed it is slow. Hmm I could create the config file with this version and use it with the other fast version.

I thought the EasyUAE version was originally SDL then amigfx.

@MickJT

Sadly not, maybe because at the time the amigfx version was not availible at all ..
Eventually we should tell the author to compile a new one with the "correct" version or even better wait a little more once the JIT version will be completed and availible into the amigfx

@samo79

The amigfx is the fastest version available, right?

The amigfx version is also included by default on RunInUAE, so most probably you have it already

You could try the UAECONFIG program I wrote in Reaction for OS4.0 some years ago from here:

http://os4depot.net/index.php?function=showfile&file=emulation/utility/uaeconfig.lha

Not sure if it still works okay with OS4.1 - I think it should. A few people mentioned to me that it makes life a lot easier...not as fancy as the PC UAE front ends, but usable.

Enjoy...

Scott

@scabit

That is the one I was looking for. I will give it a try and let you know how it goes.

I don't know what you mean. amigfx is an option available when you compile it. It's been available for years. Probably since the 90's. It likely came before the SDL version.

Not only that, I just checked EasyUAE. It uses amigfx. http://os4depot.net/index.php?function=showfile&file=emulation/computer/e-uae.lha

Edit: It's in a version of uae from July 1998. Probably goes back even further. amigfx is just graphics.library instead of SDL. Eventually multiple graphics modes were available, and so they had to be given names, and amigfx was the name given to the graphics.library output mode.

Edit2: amigfx is used in Drummond's 0.8.28 OS4 build.

Coincidentally, being dissatisfied with the current E-UAE configuration editors, I decided to write my own. It shamelessly (and literally) duplicates the "look and feel" of WinUAE. It should easily configure and launch E-UAE and do things like create hardfiles and manage multiple configurations. It will lack a lot of the functionality of WinUAE (the Amiga version of UAE won't even do all the things the PC version does), but include the things that a typical user, namely me, wants to do. I plan to post it online so anyone can use it "when it's done".
