@ribdevil

What is the trick to getting RuninUAE working with OS4.1 update 4? I installed it directly from the Os4.1 update 4 RuninUAE folder, and when I do that all I get is DSI and ISI errors no matter what 68k programs I try to run.
I have spent a couple of hours trying to get it working with no succes at all. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it several times.
Does anyone have the Os4.1 update 4 version of RuninUAE working on a micro A1?

Scott

i have heard of 1 other guy with this problem.
can you try installing os4.1 on a new partition from scratch?
Its just to make sure its nothing in the background (or old settings etc) that screws something up.

if not, try contact chris about it, i'll see if i can catch him and send him this way.

PS: did you report this on the hyperion/os4 forum?

I know that and you know that ...

Ooooh, but as Cloanto illegally claimed to MediaFire just over a year ago that they owned them and demanded MediaFire remove them from my online storage account, they aint gonna be happy as they still think they own them and the distribution rights...

Strangely enough after they made this false claim Cloanto were never able to provide either MediaFires, NamesCo (My former site hosts) nor my solicitor the legal proof they all demanded from Cloanto to prove their claim... strange that...

Don't give up: from what you reported earlier, you're one step away from enjoying PD
If you want, send me your UAE configuration file by email: I'll have a look at it and see what is wrong with it. Please also tell me the path where UAE is installed. And it might be useful to send me all the files stored in ENVARC:glUAE.

Theorically, you just have to install RunInUAE with the provided script and launch a WHDLoad game by clicking on its icon.

I cannot see a more simple way to launch 68k games and demos.

U use it every time and have absolutuely no trouble.

I can give it a try. Do you know what machine the other guy had? Was it a micro A1?

@all

I just wanted to inform you that, while helping sicky, an idea occurred to me to make helpers deal also with the case whereby the UAE configuration file is not found or corrupt; also, I've fixed a minor bug and made some other minor improvements. All helpers have been re-released now. And, while at it, I thought I'd also add an helper for Pinball Fantasies (Pinball Illusions might follow, but it's not 100% sure yet.)
Everything is available for free from the HELPERS page of the glUAE website.
Enjoy!

For completeness sake, now I have created also a helper for Pinball Illusions. Have fun!

I downloaded the Pinball Dreams demo and running UAE all I got was sound! Any ideas?

To repeat what I said on Amigans.net:

If your black screen problem was happening with RunInUAE with a RadeonHD graphics card, then the problem is likely that 320x240 doesn't work on RadeonHDs (your monitor shows nothing). To fix this, all you need to do from RunInUAE's menu is choose "Settings > Set default screen size to > 640x480".

Note: This issue with RadeonHD cards will be automatically handled by the next release of RunInUAE (r7).

I tried that, got sound followed by a grey screen with a small area (640 x 480?) in black, then nothing!

I hope that helps but haven't traced what's causing game not to show? Oh well back to Quake II it is then

What happens if you use the RunInUAE menu "Control E-UAE > Boot Workbench"?

And are you trying the ADF (floppy) version of the game, or a WHDLoad (harddisk installed) version of the game?

EDIT: Also, please tell me whether "Settings > Basic Workbench mode" is ticked or not.

Thanks to you mate I now have a working version of Pinball Dreams, see if we can get Pinball Fantasies and Slam Tilt etc working in the same manner

@sicky

One small thing to think about is that you can just double-click any adf-file or whdload icon and it will run in RunInUAE but if you run a game like Slam Tilt which can be installed without using whdload you need to run RunInUAE first or drop the games icon on the RunInUAE icon/window. Maybe you knew that already but thought that it would be worth mentioning.

Also the docs for RunInUAE are really helpfull I think and I've spent some time configuring the different configs to use 640x480, scanlines and joystick for a good experience.
