Long Long time ago Hyperion got the licence to do Gorky 17 game,
but never seen it on sale at any Amiga shops?

Indeed, there are Gorky 17 screeenshots on OS4 on Hyperion site, as well as game

requirements mention AmigaOS.

Anyone?

I've always wondered this as well and to this date afaik Hyperion never commented fully on this. I highly doubt those screeshots were real.. looks like vapour.

That screenshots under OS4 are surely real but the game was not released (this is the only fact we know)

OK, so, sadly only Linux one is avail.

Small company, a lot of bussines to do, especialy since AmigaOS 4 days,
but then again, its more understadable with SiN that has been only demoed,
and Worms Armageddon that has been only announced. Here game is officialy presented as that port is completed.

In these days when there are no big games for AmigaOS 4 systems, each title would be welcome, as well as for generating some revenue. At AmigaOS 4 forums game is not listed.

For we have big games in Amiga OS (OS4, AROS and Mor..) we will have two things much people that pay for these games or that will have big team develop free games and currently in Amiga systems it is impossible, now we are develop snipers, for example mean others.

I think it was demoed at Amiwest one year. I remember a representative from Hyperion doing a presentation and Q&A session, am almost sure it was of Gorky 17.

G17 feel into the same category with WA and SiN - unreleashed. Whatever the reasons were, now it makes no sense for Hyperion to restart working on them or asking them to do so. Most of the users, IF they were interested in the past over these titles, they should have finished them several years ago into another platform (from win to linux and playstation). G17 and SiN (not sure about WA) can be found on GOG as well for practically a few euros.

Anyone?

Perhaps they've been too busy doing OS4?

Where is that OS4 Game Bundle of their existing OS4 game ports?

For example, if Acube are selling an AmigaOne 500 as a system, you'd think there would be a game bundle with it, wouldn't you?

(I'm actually 100% against Acube doing the AmigaOne 500. The Amiga A500 was successful because it was Commodore's mass market solution for the low cost "low end". Acube is just ripping off what Commodore did. I liked the Sam boards because they were not called AmigaOne. But I really hate the AmigaOne brand name. AmigaOne 500 is just insulting!)

It would be good indeed if there was a game pack now when AmigaOne brand is forming (again). At least one game, and if its charged 10 euros more, that would be good for Hyperion, too. But only Q2 and Freespace are patched to work on OS4 flawflessly. Shogo and Heretic II sadly work better on MOS due to WarpUp compatibility. SiN and Gorky 17 seems to be Amiga denoed but went wapor with no comment anywhere. As well as Directory Opus Magellan (Guru Meditation SE) and Lightwave and Amiga Forever OS4 SE. Huh, with those titles renewed people could have better opinion of PPC Amigas.

It would be good to see those 3 licenced released for A1s at some point of time.

Yes, users probably got them, but for some 10 euros price they would love to have them to present also game side of new machines. Off course, Timberwolf and OO should be before that - productivity first.

Last remark on Acube`s move: it wasn`t intention that much to mimic A500 (even teaster suggested so) but to put SAMs to AmigaOne brand. Remember that people demanded low-end X1000 with no dual core and Xorro quite a lot - since A-EON is struggling to do X1000, seems Acube SAM 460 was selected to be so: low end in high end series of AmigaOnes.

Maybe people would feel a lot better if name was A1 460

@thread,

I remember reading either in a copy of Amigaformat/Amiga Active that Hyperione felt that the fastest PPC addone card for classics at the time (and graphics hardware) was not quite beefy enough to run SiN at decent speed.

Obviously things have moved on alot since then and we have the hardware and software to run it, but with Hyperion being such a small company and probably about 99% of resources being taken up by OS4 re-writting these games to run on the new hardware under OS4 isnt a priority.

Hopefully once the X1000 & OS4.2 are out they may be able to relax alittle and see about re-porting these games for extra revinew.

I wonder if Richard Drummond's hangover was fake as well, when he publicly demoed the OS4 build of Gorky 17 on the Sunday at Amiwest a few years ago.

Gorky17 was indeed announced but in 2005 or so the game got forgotten, sad to say there ain't a market for games anymore on OS4

i would have bought the game , infact any game that is released but so many others would not do that (as proven with SHOGO and Crossfire II.)

cheers

PS:Gorky 17 was at an amiwest show at one point, the game ran pretty ok but it was quite early in the development cycle.

@Toaks

Shogo Demo does not work so well on AmigaOS4 (hell to setup), so way buy something works better on PC.

Crossfire II was not that interesting.

A simple post explaining what happened or is happening would have solved this.
I think the community prefers to get bad news than no news at all. ;)

Richard Drummond's brain was destroyed by Sassenranch wine and he was unable to complete the port.

@nubechecorre

Licences are time based? Always believed you buy the licence for porting the game to another platform that doesn`t expire. Sad.

Well, Hyperion had "nose" to pick really good games, one must say.

Sad few of them never make it to AmigaOS 4

Hmmm ... even the announcement is on the Hyperion website.

They should either remove all the links or tell us how far until completed, or why no game?

@delshay

this game, I had for free on win$ machine coming along with a cover CD, wasn't that bad, but could be finished in less than a non stop playing day session.

turn by turn, very limited ammo so you have to be carefull regarding what you do.

doesn't worth more than 5 / 10$ because of the very limitated duration of this game, and the fact it was too easy
