I just find this a joke.... actually quite funny.

Is this game worth this price? I've certainly never played it!

@Amiga1200Mark

A very original platform with several twists, but the C64 version is the one that really shines, with a eerie atmosphere that wasn't present in any of the other ports.

it's a joke it's not worth the money... but wait! "I Can offer discounts on postage costs if you win 2 or more auctions"

anyway, a good game but C64 version is obviously better

@Amiga1200Mark

It has a rating of "extremly rare ****" (http://hol.abime.net/2540) - but still, the price is too high.

@bitman

Thanks for the info mate. Ive never played it. Might give it a go on my 1200 via whdload.

The Most ive paid for an Amiga game was £20 for Turrican 2 ! That will no doubt stay like that till I find Turrican 3 somewhere!

@Amiga1200Mark

think my Shadow of the Beast 1 box went for about £40

Actually I recognize that seller, I think he purchased some of my Amiga box games.

Funny thing is..his listings state you should ask him to test a game if you are 'buying it to actually play it' lol...

For £750 you would have thought he might actually test the thing!

This game is exceptionally rare. It was exclusively available as a welcome present in the UK adventure club 'Official Secrets' and never released to the public.

This must be why the silly high price. Though i've seen some games go over $300! This game was never distributed so very rare. Obviously not worth $1k us!

@Amiga1200Mark

While to most folk (even me) it may be absurd but sometimes you'll get someone crazy enough to pay such a daft price...

I suppose it just depends on whether someone thinks it worth it or not...

The craziest game prices on eBay though are for SNES RPG games, over the years the prices has steadily increased and never gone down but always up, I'll often pay up to £150 for an old SNES RPG game but in the past 3 or 4 months the typical price for some of the best games has been averaging around £175...

Like I say I suppose it just depends whether it's worth it to the buyer or not, to me I wouldn't even pay £20 for an an old Amiga game but the SNES games I don't mind paying £150 as to me they're worth it...

@Amiga1200Mark

i am one of the lucky ones who have this game, it sold in extremly small numbers as it was only sold directly from the author and at a special event.

it was less than 50 produced as far as i can recall and its never been part of any collections later either.

749 GBP might sound awfully lot but i am pretty sure this will be sold either to that price or a private sale after the auction is done.

I am pretty sure this is the last time you will ever see this copy in daylight.

I would never have tried to take 750 quid for

Non collectors will never understand what collector items go for anyway , you guys should see what certain coins go for, pennies from 40 years ago of a certain make etc can go for 1000% its original value etc.

no its not funny , because the guy might actually break the disc, common thing with today's floppy drives today is dust, dust from the last 10+ years because the floppy and drive havent been used so testing the game without taking serious precautions might destroy the disc.

@Toaks

Could I ask you a small favour...

Any chance you could change your avatar pic to one that's not quite so erm... ugly (for want of a better word) dunno if that's a real picture of you or not (but it's the same one you had on Tedd Gallions Facebook page as a friend of his), so I assume it's really you...

Anywhoo... just wondering if you could find a better one (if that's possible) as every time I see that one I have to close my eyes and scroll it off the screen as quickly a possible, it nothing personal but that's one damn ugly picture... ta...

PS: Sorry for being off topic but I just threw up me breakfast again...

Gawd... I'd hate to see that doll...

Think I'll stick with the Chickenhead logo as it's a sign of the REAL Commodore and not that fake CUSA crap who hijacked it for their fake products...

It could be worse, I could post my real picture from Facebook here which is even worse than yours and that's me just trying to look normal (I never could quite manage that), I kinda look like a cross between one of the Chuckle Brothers & Blakie from On The Buses)...

PS: Your pic doesn't piss me of, It's just creepy for some reason...

haha, well you're not the first to say its creepy :p

@bitman

the rating system at HOL can be somewhat misleading at times but yes thats a nice list but keep in mind that there is quite a few rare games aswell (the ranks = extremly rare, rare, common, mud)

That said, i am still way up on the contrib lists at hol.abime.net as seen in the team list and i have only supported them with box scans and last time i supplied them with scans is nearly 6 years ago now.

I must scan the rest of my collection soon :).

I have a few title which hol dosn't have box scans for aswell, maybe I should try to scan these titles, which includes one of the extrem rare titles: Mindwalker.

@bitman

nice!, i have mindwalker too but i got the A1000 edition so there wasn't any box with that, just the manual and the floppy. (the stuff thats on hol).

If the boxed one came before or after the bundle i don't know but i do know that HOL would love that boxscan!

From what I've seen it's the Magnetic Scrolls Text/graphic Adventure game which I believe it was exclusive for the members of the Adventure Club or something...

Nothing to do with System3's 8 bit Platform game later converted to Amiga...

This one: http://hol.abime.net/2540

And here's a review: http://amr.abime.net/review_1833
