I am not an avid gamer but would like to download and play a few games on my AmigaOne X1000.

What Amiga OS 4.1u5 compatible games can you recommend for me to try.

I am open to whatever games tiggle your fancy whether it be popular or just fun to play.

Offer me some titles of what you like to play and I will give them a whirl.

Thanks

TJ

@amigasociety

well since we are patiently waiting for 3d drivers to arrive, here's a few modern releases I personally enjoy that'll run great on your X1000 right now:

- BOH
- 1941 Extreme-DX-Dual
- Swamp Defence
- River Pirates (free when you buy Swamp Defence)
- Bubblesche Deluxe
- SuperTux

@klx300r

Nice collection of games, I agree with you, they are really good. I'd like to add a few games:

Descent Freespace 1 and 2
Quake 1 and 2
ScummVM (lots of old adventure games)
Also emulators like offcourse RunInUAE, MAME, Hatari, VICE and others
Doom, I find Doomattack to run really well but there are other versions available
Duke3D
Myst

I don't know how easy or hard it's to get your hands on some of these games but these I have and they work with no need for OpenGL.

@smf

Xmoto are opengl based => not for radeonHD , but maybe with wazp3d + compositing enabled can works more or less ok.

@amigasociety

You can try any games, just those ones who want opengl use with wazp3d + enabled compositing. Half of them will works ok with such combo.

Primate Plunge! It's a small game that is very addicting (I think) and fun. Give that one a try!

Aquaria is a unique game. Works well on my Samiga 800mhz so I'll bet it runs real fast on X1000.

Battle of Wesnoth is a good strategy game you can play, great graphics as well.

Monkey Island 3 (Curse of Monkey Island) is a great game you can play through ScummVM available on such sites as pbay.

If you like platformers, try Zool or Zool2.

Nothing 'deep', just a lot of fun.

@amigasociety

Huno released quite a lot of games which do not need extra sobj or libs and even most of them do not require 3D (like 1941DX).

I would suggest Zaz (reflexion/puzzle) and 1941DXdual (shoot)
and for nostalgia you could fire reminiscence (engine for flashback) or PushOver

This community is going to collapse.

It seems that whenever someone mentions the word "3D", the victim is accused of heresy.
Quake was software and so many other 3D games did not require 3D acceleration.
And it's not true that you wating for 3D drivers: now you can use warp3D and miniGL.
With a supported PCI VGA, on X1000 or any other PPC hardware you can play any 3D games.
As far As Gallium is not here, you can play any 3D games with warp3D and miniGL.
X1000 has PCI slot for radeon 9250 or faster..

so..please.

Aquaria require OpenGL acceleration if you want to play.
Without openGL the game is a slow slideshow.

But if he will use wazp3d with compositing enabled (that is new os4 related option in the wazp3d), it will be fast, if it will works at all. I for myself test about 10 games with wazp3d + enabled compositing (its wazp3d code do stuff over compositing , which speedup some tasks with textures handling). For exampl such as Gish, CadogAdventure, BrainParty, some warp3d mags, Giddy3, DragonMemory and some others works fast, and almost the same as original warp3d by speed.

So, if he will be lucky enough and Aquaria will works with wazp3d/enabled compositing, it will fast enough.
