Strife AGA...

Cammy has just posted on Amiga.org about a new games for AGA Amigas called Strife AGA...

http://www.amiga.org/forums/showthread.php?t=64424

While I'm not usually a big fan of these 3D Doom style games, this one has me interested though as it has elements of RPG games in it which are my favourite...

However there seems to be a catch according to the "Read Me" doc accompanying the download in that you have to own the original PC game called Strife to rip some needed files from it...

From the ReadMe Docs...
Quote:
Usage:

1) You will need a copy of the commerical game. Place the following files in
your Strife folder :
STRIFE1.WAD
VOICES.WAD
2) Double click on the Strife.exe icon

Thing is I can't find anywhere on the net selling the PC version and was wondering if anyone knows where I could buy the PC version from....

New things are few and far between in Amigaland so it'd be nice to at least give this little game a go just to see how good (or bad) it is...

Link to Strife AGA Game Download on Aminet...

Thanks to Cammy for sharing this info with us...

@Franko

Not a bad game (Trapped2) once you get into it. It's a bit of a cross between a fps game and RPG. Pretty nice game 3d engine for the time. Might be worth trying one day if you find yourself feeling the urge to play an amiga RPG.

@ Rob & fishy_fis

Silly me...

Found the link to where you can download the PC version of the "Strife" game in Cammys first post on the A.org thread and a quick google for "Trapped2" got me the download for that...

Just need to install them on one of my 060 equipped A1200s and see if they are any good, might test them out on an 030 as well just to how they handle...

PS: After seeing the "HOL" review I do recall reading about Trapped 2 many moons ago in the various Amiga magazine of the time but not being one for "Doom" style games I never got round to buying it...

Going to give them a wee go now anyway as it's been a very long time since I've seen anything "new" on me miggies...

@ Kik300r

Thank for the link, I just noticed it myself (didn't bother to click on it first time as I thought it was just going to be a review about the PC version)...

@All:

Does someone get this game working ?

When I launch it, I only get one message :
Unknown configuration variable mouse_sensitivity !

And it stops here.

An idea ?

Thanks, Faranheit
