Noticed this Settlers-like game in Aminet's recent uploads. Quite a big download but running nice on my Sam440 and is very reminiscent of the brilliant Settlers. Not had much time to play yet, but seems like a nice game!

@gtmooya

Settlers is a good game but it just sucks away too much time for me.

@gtmooya

Wow... neat... Settlers was one of me favourite games...

but was badly let down by Settlers II which was utter mince and tatties...

At last now a fourth program to run on my Blizzard PPC...

I always knew that 400 hundred odd quid I paid for my PPC board would be worthwhile someday...

We're being spoiled this week in Amigaland first there was the release of "Strife AGA" and now we have "Widelands"...

Hmmm... wonder if the Amiga is slowly making a comeback and people are starting to program for it again or are these two games just something that fell through a time warp and it'll all be back to normal this time next week... ie: nowt new for another 20 years...

@Rob

Boo... Hiss... Rubbish man... if you enjoy something then make time for it... forget all those unimportant things like work and wotnot...

Download it grab some crisps and a large supply of juice and sit in a darkened room playing away to yer hearts content (works for me)...

Sure you're job and family may not be there when you emerge from the darkness to resupply yer grub stash but hey who cares, you can always get another job and adopt a couple of orphans and maybe even a mail order bride but you've gotta make time for enjoying yourself or you'll regret it when your gasping your last breath and about to pop yer clogs...

@Rob

Likewise, Settlers is indeed addictive.

@Franko

Never played Settlers II, but spent many hours (days?) playing the original. There was Foundation DC, another Settlers 'clone', a few years back, but never got into that one.

Just need to find some time to play now.

@gtmooya

Just tried it, not bad apart from the deer acting like god and walking on water lol

Oh and the Settlers has 37 files, Widelands can beat that at................... 37000 files, not even the doom wad file contains that many objects.

@TheAMIgaOne

Its absolutely no problem to "beat" ANY game by the # of files. I would like more to see actually a game program that isnt overloaded and over-complex (code-wise) like Widelands is.
