I was wondering as this game "Another world 2 (Out of this world 2) - Heart of Alien" was released on Sega Mega CD I was wondering has it been released on other platforms that could be easily ported to AmigaOS 4.1?

As seen here

Starting at the 22:00 minute mark.

@Fairdinkem

Having this ported to OS4 would be awesome!

@Fairdinkem

This comes up from time to time. Long story short, ports already exist or OS4.X, AROS, and OS3.x (if a person looks they'll see an os3.x screenshot on the website. Id guess it exists for MOS too, but I only mention the above 3 as I did AROS version and some friends did OS3.x and OS4.x version, so I know them versions quite well. It is somewhat buggy though, especially on BE architectures.

@Fairdinkem

as fishy allready said, allready out but extremely buggy , we tried to do several versions and fishy, me and Frak did seperate attempts too but all attempts (including other formats) is still too far away from being releaseable if you ask me... oh and Big Endian certainly doesn't give the game any favours.

@fishy

have you tried the later versions? , is it stable on pc's etc now or still many issues there too?`

@Toaks

Hmm? A game ported from M68000 that suffers from endian issues when run on AmigaOS? Now that sounds like someone fucked up royally. Maybe better to start from scratch

@afxgroup

It would be awesome if you could fix the current porting attempts.

@olegil

that is down to the fact that this project was built from the scratch perhaps?
IIRC it's a rewrite and not the actual source from Eric chachi... sorry i don't remember all the details any more :(

@afxgroup

i know man and so have i , i dunno if you tried to help me on this project as it's so long ago now but feel free to have a look, also i noticed that the source have been updated twice since i tried it...

@Toaks

Have you tried it on x86 first? Might be a good idea to fix any problems in the source before trying to port it. But I'm no expert

Other than that, how about making (or improving or porting or whatever) an emulator for running the original instead?

nope, i am still Amiga Only so i have no idea how it plays today on other formats other what Fishy_Fis has allready written (about current source, the old one we worked with back all those years ago was broken across all formats).

@afxgroup

That is correct, tiny game code but when it's a unfinished and broken then it may prove to be worse than a huge game source code .

@Toaks

i've recompiled it and i have no crash. The game starts from CD and from ISO. I can see the intro. But when the main game starts the player sprite is not well drawn and if i try to use the left and right keys nothing happens

This game has nothing to do with Eric Chahi.

wiki sais that the game was developed by Interplay under license from Delphine Software International and was released by Virgin Interactive in 1994 for Sega Mega-CD, exclusively in North America. It is a sequel to Another World (although it was made without the participation or approval of the original game's designer Eric Chahi)
