Went out today and as I was going to see the Tartan Week celebrations at Grand Central, I figured I'd check out the Amiga Inc address.
167 Madison Ave (between 32rd and 33rd St's)
10016-5430

I took a picture (which I uploaded on amiga org but it hasn't shown up yet. I may upload them here) on April 6, 2005 at 11:48AM, NY time.
The first picture just shows the outside door with the address. (it's not exciting, but it DOES prove it is real).

After walking into the lobby, I wanted to take a picture of the listing but the doorman asked me not to, so I went up to the third floor and took another picture at 11:52AM. It shows the companies listed for room 301. None say "Amiga Inc", but we kinda knew this already.

No one was in the office ("Knock, knock!") but there was another lady who was also there to deliver something to a live person at room 301. When we asked someone from another office on the third floor if she ever saw people in the 301 room(s), she said sometimes and about 3 or 4 people was the normal number of folks in that room(s).

There doesn't appear to be people there everyday. And certainly not today.

The lady that was there to do a delivery at 301 was looking for a company named Bandwidth Technology (which is NOT listed on the wall). Apparently those people also had addresses in california. She figured all these people (the bandwidth people, amiga inc people, etc) were sharing this address as a drop-off point (UPS, Fed-x and so on).

I'm not going to go there everyday to see if someone shows up because that starts to enter "weirdo country".

If the pics don't show up at amiga org for me to include a link, i'll get them up here.

Edward R Murrow, reporting!

@Uncharted

oh, I saw kilts all right! There's nothing like a man with a good pair of legs!

anyway, here's the office (as seen from the street)

and here's the 3rd floor sign. Yeah, it's blurry, but still readable. i wasn't trying to be artistic here.

That address is just a stop point for mail and stuff for several companies. Dunno about other people but I find this whole address thing weird.

Sounds good....but isn't it ME that should be checking out what's under that kilt??

Years ago, some friend's introduced me to one of my favorite songs:
(I'm sure you are familiar, so, let's all sing along)

A Scotsman clad in kilt left the bar one evening fair
And one could tell by how he walked he'd drunk more than his share
He staggered on until he could no longer keep his feet
Then stumbled off into the grass to sleep beside the street.

cho: Ring ding diddle diddle i de o
Ring di diddle i o
He stumbled off into the grass to sleep beside the street.

Later on two young and lovely girls just happened by,
And one says to the other with a twinkle in her eye
You see yon sleeping Scotsman who is young and handsome built
I wonder if it's true what they don't wear beneath their kilt.

Ring ding diddle diddle i de o
Ring di diddle i o
I wonder if it's true what they don't wear beneath their kilt.
They crept up to the sleeping Scotsman quiet as could be
Then lifted up his kilt about an inch so they could see
And there behold for them to view beneath his Scottish skirt
Ws nothing but what God had graced him with upon his birth

Ring ding diddle diddle i de o
Ring di diddle i o
There was nothing there but what God gave upon his birth

They marveled for a moment then one said we'd best be gone
But let's leave a present for our friend before we move along
They took a blue silk ribbon and they tied it in a bow
Around the bonnie spar that the Scot's lifted kilt did show

Ring ding diddle diddle i de o
Ring di diddle i o
Around the bonnie spar that the Scot's lifted kilt did show

The Scotsman woke to nature's call and stumbled toward a tree
Behind a bush he lifts his kilt and gawks at what he sees
Then in a startled voice he says to what's before his eyes
He said, "Lad I don't know where you've been but I see you won
first prize"

Ring ding diddle diddle i de o
Ring di diddle i o
He said, "Lad I don't know where you've been but I see you won
first prize"

@number6

Oh dear, another dead link (above).

No problem, it's still here at bottom of page:

Heh. I see this thread is kept off the front page. It's in a front page category, so...
I wonder who did that?
