***BUMPITY***BUMP***
Just trying to keep this at least near the front page (I had to dig back through four pages in just the AmigaOne OS4 section alone to find it!).
I would really like to get this running if at all possible and would like to know if anyone who has seen the GR like I have was able to get it working. Last edited by DWolfman on 23-Jun-2005 at 07:59 PM.

Well, I reinstalled Update 3, but no change.
Any ideas? Anyone? Please? _________________ This posting, in it's entirety, is the opinion and/or statement of the author and does not reflect the views and/or position of this site. |

| Time to dig this up again
Some problems still with the third OS3 update and GLQuake:
1) Status bar corruption - happens in all resolutions as far as I can tell
2) The sound has gone wrong, it's all hissing and crackling, doesn't seem to even correspond to any explosions or stuff so I think it's just playing garbage instead of what Quake would want to play
3) Horrible slowdown in FPS when there are flickering lights in sight (for example in the episode selection map, one of the corridors has these)
So, any ideas as to what causes these? Or perhaps a new version of GLQuake available by now? |

I haven't noticed #2, sound's ok. But with viewsize 120, the graphics are nowhere near right (Radeon driver). _________________ : AmigaOneXE (unmod.) 750FX/512 MB +stuff & AmigaOS 4.(0|1) : A1200/68060&96MB/SCSI/EM1200-Voodoo3 & OS 3.5 : A500/1MB : Pegasos (ff) 512 MB & MorphOS Praise seitan. |

How about the noticeable slowdown in flickering lights (down to around 5-10FPS)?
Regarding the sound I'll need to try out some AHI settings, just dunno what could have gone wrong. |

is that video mem option the amount of free memory on the video card? or some weird internal P96 thing?
Mine says 19MB or so free at the moment (it was about 9MB earlier) I've tried heretic II from startup and got the fuzzy effect (on a radeon). I just put my workbench screenmode down to 16bit and got up to 25MB free and heretic was ok, (workbench in 32 bit for everyones info) I removed the 1280x1024.jpg from the backdrop and got the same back (25MB), so presuming its the graphics card memory (I seem to remember mine had 32MB) to get out of this problem the best bet would be a graphics card with more memory (128MB or 256MB should do for the forseeable ) anyone got any recommendations considering the current state of Warp3d etc?
Mark

i've been trying to get GLquake OS4 running on my SAM now for some time, but no matter what i do, i always end up with the same 'Hunk_Alloc: failed on 1544814608 bytes' error. i'd very much like to find a solution if there is one. here is my system info:
SAM440ep-flex @ 667MHz radeon 9250 (128MB) AmigaOS 4.1u2 with current minigl, etc. original ID quake files from v1.09
when grabbing a log using the -stdout flag, here is what i get:
Quote:

i've tried specifying memory using the -mem flag all the way from 32MB to 128MB. running in window mode or full screen makes no difference. running with the -nosound flag makes no difference.
any ideas? has anyone gotten this to work on a SAM?

BUMP
I got the exact same error message "Hunk_Alloc: failed on 1544814608 bytes".
{edit} Solved! You just have to increase the stack size x10 {/edit}
