@Hammer

I'll confirm that (with the Internet Zone at least).

@tomazkid

I've just tried IE 7.0.5730.11IS and it ask the question:-

Do you want to allow this site to access your clipboard?

So the conlusion here is that it will block if you tell it to do so, though I still use Firefox 2 most of the time anyway.

Have a look at:

http://www.osnews.com/story.php/12724/IE-5+-Clipboard-Privacy-Issue-Demonstrated

Some people don't think this is a bad idea,
"why would you have your password or credit card information in a text file unless you were dumb?"

http://www.osnews.com/comment.php?news_id=12724

But some people are Cletus, the slack jawed Yocal, etc etc.

How about a "test my system"-button on amigaworld.Net?

Some options would be nice like perhaps
- only bugs since xxxx-yy-zz
- only browser xyz
- only ports or browser or mailclient or ...
- ...

@ALL

Be sure that in the future Amiga, and Amiga Browsers, P2P programs, Bit torrent, Aminet Radio (and perhaps new Flash anim and Java), etcetera will be checked in order to NOT:

- Spread your IP over internet

- Allow other user to read your sensible data

(IE clipboard error will be only than a silly exploit if someone will manage to read our unprotected hard disks partitions).

- It is important to create Amiga Firewalls to check that NOTHING exit from Amiga side. Firewalls integrated into routers only prevents anything from ENTERING the Amiga.

(Actually none could check if he is installing an Amiga malware).

- Allow/disable any major javascript compatibility

- Leave open IP ports

If someone has other ideas please fell free to add.

It is better to prevent than to resolve troubles, damages, piracy.

NOW: when piracy it is very sparse and rare into Amiga world it is time to let the Amiga be equipped with safe software, troubleshooting programs, monitoring utilities.

So, you'd like pretty much no network connectivity...

I had a wacky idea yesterday, after coming across this thread the first time:

Here's a fun thing you might try, if you know of a site that has this steal-your-clipboard-contents exploit, and you want to get back at them for it by using up a buncha their resources...

On a peecee with the desktop display size set fairly high -- say, 1280 x 1024 -- and while connected on a high-speed internet connection, load Internet Exploder, punch the PrintScreen/SysRq button on your keyboard (to put a snapshot of your display into the clipboard), visit the page. Click the PrintScreen/SysRq button again. Visit the page again. Repeat as often as desired. Get your friends to join in on the fun, too.

If you've got multiple peecees on hand, do this on all of them at the same time. Hehe!

Tons of fun!
