Two other good files for people looking for assistance can be found in the A1-Linux yahoo groups files area.

AOneProblems.txt and helpful hints1.txt both have a lot of useful hints and tips.

Scropp,

I don't have access to the a1users list, perhaps somebody could submit these as a new feature and we can link to that?

Thanks

Mark

Thanks, this thread will be very helpfull to me when I finally get to install an OS on my A1.
I have waited 10 years for a new Amiga and when I finally got one I couldn't find time to use it the first week

Will hopefully get it going tomorrow (optimistic, I know)...

Again, thanks for the usefull links and to everybody that did the sites.

Troels

Ken Moffat's page :
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/zarniwhoop/kernel/kernel.html

Kernel 2.6.9-064 patch for amigaone (most stable for me too) .

- get kernel 2.6.9 from www.kernel.org
- apply patch (grep linux-2.6.9/README with the word patch to see howto do it)

If someone want it, I can post the uImage + modules somewhere.

If it's as stable as the amigaone-linux.sf.net 2.4.26 kernel please upload it.

It is stable for me, that's all I can say.
I've put the image + modules on http://users.skynet.be/henri.chapelle

(this image is for siimage ide and maybe fixed via ide because dma is enabled)

Thanks, but it's unusable here (7455, sii0680 with DMA enabled), total lockups, gfx corruption in X11, etc.

@joerg

Damn. It works here. Fixed A1 G4 7455, sii0680 and DMA too.
2.4.26 didn't work since I had my A1 fixed (machine freezes during boot). Now it works again.
During the boot process, the screen resolution doesn't change so when I reach the prompt it's still in low resolution but resolution in X is OK.

Thanks henriavelabarbe.
