Gorky 17 was software rendered, but complete. Richard said that it probably wasn't
worth adding the Hardware rendering due to the complexities of the mix of 2D
and 3D graphics. He said he managed it for the Linux version, but it was
complicated. Apparently software rendering is fast enough.

If you mean UFO: Enemy Unknown, I used to play that on an '030 50Mhz, and it was lightning fast from what I remember. It wasn't really a "3D" game anyway, it was isometric.
