@Bean

Yesterday I had a few crashes until I installed the faad. library. Is it one of the necessary files out there for the tunenet?

Definately not! TuneNet will run without any codec libraries installed - including an MP3 library.

I'm guessing the plugin is crashing if it is unable to open the library.

Perhaps Curty can confirm.

Can now the tunenet be started from the cli on the rec mode? Lets say that I want to put it on a scheduler for a specific time to start recording an internet station. How can this be done. I haven't seen anything in the manual!

You can't do this yet, though it should be added to the next release (around March time). The only way to record at present is through the GUI.

Just like to say, I enjoy this program very much! It is one of the things I can showcase on the Amiga and one of the things that works very well. I still need to figure out how everything works, but so far it is great, Thanks!

Strange.
Just checked the src and it all seems fine,
By removing faad.library the plugin just doesnt init and doesnt get used by TN.
In libinit func:

/*Open Faad.Library!!*/
libBase->FaadBase = IExec->OpenLibrary("faad.library", 0);
if (libBase->FaadBase)
{
libBase->IFaad = (struct FaadIFace *)IExec->GetInterface(libBase->FaadBase, "main", 1, NULL);
if (!libBase->IFaad)
return NULL;
} else return NULL;

__lib_init( (struct Library *) (*(struct ExecBase **)4) ); //Allow CLIB2

In expunge:
__lib_exit(); //Removes clib2
/* Close down FAAD */
if (libBase->IFaad) IExec->DropInterface( (struct Interface *)libBase->IFaad );
if (libBase->FaadBase) IExec->CloseLibrary( libBase->FaadBase );

@walkero

Check you have the latest AAC Plugin off os4depot, I had to change something for the library opening in a later version, it may be this?

Well, yes, but AFAIK (i may be wrong) this just adds the iconify button, the functionality for iconifying has to be written?!

I haven't written any ReAction (or MUI) apps, yet.

Not really. All you have to do is have in your event handling code:

Quote:

...

case WMHI_ICONIFY:
RA_Iconify(window)
break;

case WMHI_UNICONIFY:
RA_OpenWindow(window);
break;

...

ReAction takes care of all the hard work here (adding the appicon, removing it, etc.).

As soon as Tunenet gets skinnable i will move from ANR to Tunenet. And ofcourse send some money as thanks. I have had crashes here and there with ANR and it crashes when i play mp3s from harddisk (streaming works). The thing i didnt know either was that i thought always that something was bad connection between my provider and the stream radiostation i listen to as i got often jumps/flips on music like it looses small connections. Today i thought... i try tunenet just to see if its really the internet. And you know what. Every station i listened played fine without breaks anything. Man this is wonderfull.
Ofcourse there could be settings in ANR that i have to change but i had no luck or im just lousy in settings.
So as Tunenet works fine ill continue using it. And the bonus is its native ;)
So see ya later when you release the skinnable version :D

Would be nice to have a search funktion like in ANR. As i see it Tunenet searches only the list you scanned for.

@Kicko

Not long now. I'm just tidying the rough edges - or at least trying to at the moment. I'm also squeezing in some additional feature requests.

It's not going to quite make the end of May as I intended, but we shouldn't be far off + you'll get some new original skins.

This version will be a preview version (with all features enabled) as with all the other releases, but I hope to get close to a version 1 by the end of the year.

Cheers,
Bean.

@Bean

A CD ripper function would be great. Any plans for it?
Of course with CDDB access for correct audio info.

Hey, does Tunenet support streaming now? And if so, does it support that microphone input Mikey_C wants so badly?

TuneNet has supported shoutcast playback from the very beginning. It can also broadcast in a simple way.

Microphone support has been promised, but hasn't been implemented yet. I'm trying desperately to get the current version (with full skinnable support) into a state where I can actually release it. The latest version uses either AHI Music Unit or Device mode, Mic support will come for the device mode - but then I have been saying that for some time now and still haven't got that done. Sorry - things can be slow sometimes - the new skinnable GUI interface has been a hell of a lot of work.

Cheers,
Bean.

Mikey is going to make you rich when you implement/finish that feature. :)

Okay. Well, you've done very well. One of OS4's best apps, (the very best is WookieChat though of course hehe), and the addition of WMA playback will enhance it even further. I cant wait to use that LED style skin too. :)

Hi,

A Skinnable preview has been released - see the TuneNet homepage. www.tunenet.co.uk

(It's testing alpha software as always).

Cheers,
Bean.
