Whow you got some faith. Personally I never even played with the thought "what if" hardware gets released when I first read that announcement. I saw it as a dead duck right from the start.

I think Kneedeep will get his machine back but, it will take a long time. I wouldn't have said that a month ago because i didn't believe Adam would return anything. Still, it dosen't explain whats taking him so long.

It wasn't faith so much as a promise made in context of the debate surrounding ACK's announcements and non-deliveries. I thought it would be appropriate to put my money (waiting) where my mouth was if ACK did improve on their track record.
Apparently, in this regard, they did not improve which was the assumption I guess many of us made - but still, I gave it a shot. |

| Well, it's been nearly a month since we gave ACK "breathing room", and look what it brought Kneedeep... But I'll give ACK a bit longer before properly moaning about it.

Yeah, your right... ACK seems to be a lost cause in this regard. If they ever do get anything done it would seem to happen on their own schedule, whatever that may be, certainly not the announced schedule.
On the bright side:
- A few people did get their repaired boards back after year(s) of wait - I can now go ahead and spend my ear-marked $500 on something else

But I'll certainly be on the lookout until the end of official Summer, September 22nd? |
Amiga.com as of today the 17th still has the news item declaring:
"Entry level product ready for Customers Summer 2007"
Since they and ACK are both based in North America it appears that at least Amiga, Inc. are still publicly saying the machines will be available to buy by the end of this week from what I can see.
I doubt this will happen though. The more realistic question in my mind is will they let the press release of a failed promise sit there (should they fail their own schedule) or will it simply just disappear from the site like the press release for Kent?
Even if they don't make Sept. 22nd (last day of Summer) I hope they actually still mean to do this and get something to Amigans soon. * sigh *Last edited by fairlanefastback on 17-Sep-2007 at 07:11 PM. Last edited by fairlanefastback on 17-Sep-2007 at 07:11 PM.

| @NutsAboutAmiga I'm sure Bill McEwan knew the history of who he was signing a contract with for those OS4 boards... One also wonders if Amiga Inc always planned to fail on the Kent stadium...
edit: And it is somewhat ominous that neither Amiga Inc nor ACK appear to have any presence planned for the Pianeta Amiga show on 22nd/23rd September: http://www.pianetaamiga.it/2007/eng/index.php?Who http://amigaweb.net/index.php?function=view_news&id=676 Last edited by ChrisH on 17-Sep-2007 at 07:33 PM.

| @fairlanefastback I haven't asked him, no. I had been planning to wait until the 22nd before asking Kneedeep & raising the issue, but some people raised it a little earlier, so I left a short "me too" comment.
But given past experience, I would expect ACK to be shouting loudly about having returned the board, and most likely Kneedeep too about having received it. Last edited by ChrisH on 17-Sep-2007 at 07:21 PM.

If OS4 comes bundled with Sam440 on Saturday this sentence will at least be true.

Sorry to hear that. If you don't mind me asking, has ACK at least stayed in reasonable contact with you on status from time to time?_________________ Pegasos2 G3 running AOS 4.1 and MorphOS 2.0 Amikit user, tinkering with Icaros VM (AROS) EFIKA owner Amiga 1200 |

| @Kneedeep He's obviously very busy working on those mythical OS4 mobos - something he surely couldn't have foreseen on 8-Jul-2007, when he promised to return those three A1s within a week... Last edited by ChrisH on 18-Sep-2007 at 12:19 PM. Last edited by ChrisH on 18-Sep-2007 at 12:15 PM.
