If the news isnt about x11 Firefox, I'm adding this line of code to wookiechat:

if(!stricmp(nick,"afxgroup")) clean_exit();

Kidding. :P

But I am hoping its about the firefox port. *crosses fingers* :)

Isn't X11 getting a total rewrite too?

@NoelFuller

But x11 is not Afxgroup's project. Also, as far as I know the maintainer was not making any major changes. Last I heard, he was working on making it compile with newlib.library, to hopefully give around a 10% increase in performance.

My bet is that Andrea Palmatè shows this latest incarnation of X11 and Afxgroup's FireFox project runs on it. What would be astonishing is if FF runs native without X11 :) but I don't expect it.

The mystery deepens!

I'm having trouble with a few wmv movies at present - no image or sound on default settings or a stripey window, sound with a cgxvmem option but no image.

My guess is a new version of Transmission with the GUI!

Send one of these clips to me to test. And ensure you've got the latest MPlayer. I can play most clips with default, and if theres stripey diagonal type lines I can play those clips using the "sdl (video through sdl)" option.

EDIT: This appears to be the latest: http://www.amigasoft.net/downloads/MPlayer_EP.lha.lzh , and the official site is here

Recently I've found that MPlayer (Epiphany version at last) is not able to play a movie while YAM 2.5 is launched (main window opened, or just dockyfied). I still don't know where the problem comes from but I think I'll report this to YAM devs too if this is a problem with it (for now YAM is the only program that does this, so it my well be guilty, but no evidence yet).

Thanks for the tip. I have the latest MPlayer. Of the 4 suspect videos three play with sdl and the fourth might too but the monitor gives an out of range message. Unfortunately that one was the first I tried previously wih sdl so I did not try the others.

Sounds like we're getting quite a few updates. I wonder how quickly some of those will be available via amiupdate. I'd expect DvPlayer updates to be emailed directly to registered users as they always have been.

While we wait for the 2007 show report to be finished ( and I apologize profusely as it is TOTALLY my fault for the delay... ) perhaps people would like to review the Pianeta Amiga 2006 report.

The 2007 report will be out any day!
