Ok, so I practically stayed up all night waiting for some news. Here's what I have found:

-No press release of any kind from any company or group present.
-No news about the presence and no statements from Evert (Hyperion)
-No news about a new beta version of DV Player or it's features
-No news about TuneNet and if it is available with skinning
-A photo of the box for OS4 for classics
-Pictures of Sam440 board but no news of price and software bundle
-afxgroup saying he would have some amazing news at the show. I guess
it is a SDL browser, but I've seen no screenshots nor have any information
on if it actually works or is available to download as a demo.

Suffice it to say I am pretty disappointed in the coverage. Sigh...

I think it's that Bourriquet p2p program.

Me too. Sure i knew OS4 wouldn't get released for SAM. But i thought maybe they will announce OS4 for classics at least.

@fryguy and HammerD

The show's not over yet. Give people there a chance to enjoy themselves and then report back.

They did it. In the fotos they said that the OS4 boxes where for the "soon to be released" OS4 for classics...

You know it might surprise you to learn this show has been organized around those in attendance and not about reporting back to us..

I'm sure if there is any significant news it will filter back in the normal channels like it does every year...

So just be patient!

@Akiko

Well, it is pretty hard to believe that for the seven hours of the show any of the posts posted by attendants did not contain information about :
- if SAM is working
- if it can be bought (as announced)
- what is the price (as announced, that should be available at 11 am)
- what is going on with the representative of Hyperion.

People might feel disappointed. Some were waiting especially for this particular moments. Although, like many say, we should wait a few days for detailed reports but nobody can forbid HammerD to be thwarted. He is wasted (as many others probably) after a sleepless night.

Judging the silenceness from Pianeta Amiga it seems that Hyperion
respects the lawsuit and will not release OS4 for SAM yet. Which IMO
is smart if they want to stand a chance in court.

The downside is that we probably won't see much of OS4 on SAM
this Christmas either.

@Manu

I'm just curious - why would anyone want to buy a SAM board? Unless you have some specific embedded linux application for this board...

But buying it - in the hope of - running OS4 is....a gamble. Due to the current court case regarding OS4, Hyperion, and Amiga Inc. there is absolutely NO guarantee the SAM board will ever run OS4.

If you want to run linux there are certainly faster/cheaper/better solutions out there.

@HammerD

True, maybe a few diehards buy it if it's not too expensive.
Another question is how much damage can Acube take if they are
held up by this lawsuit. I would think it has cost them a lot
of money to get this board finished.

The longer Amiga Inc. screws up Amiga the cheaper it will be for DiscreetFX and partners down the road.

@Oxygenet

You'll be fine if you do it like me.... Lower your expectations to zero or below.
It's a form of a painkiller

Shame that since the major ED2K p2p (indexing) servers all went offline, unless it supports KAD as well, it isn't going to be all that useful.

I'm sure we'll hear a bit more about the show in due course. Someone is probably working on a show report right now.

P.S.

It was sent off for demonstration, along with the skinning capability. It's not generally available just yet though.

@Bean

According to the official information on Pianeta Amiga site, it was supposed to be available not demonstrated by this time. I think this is what made some people disappointed. They were expecting something which was announced for a very long time.
