OS5 is simply going to be a rebranded AROS like they did with those old Amiga games running UAE without crediting UAE.

Shhhh....soon you'll get the community to believe AROS is OS5. We would not want that would we ? Last edited by Manu on 14-Jun-2009 at 08:13 PM.

| aos5.0 are going to be better than mac osx, so if they are gonna just rename aros to aos5.0 it will be no good. aros is a fart in the wind compard to mac osx. if anything is gonna be aos5.0 it must be Anubis.

Maybe they had the same idea as the anubis people? Even Linus Torvalds in Evolution OS motion picture says something like: the thing running on top of the linux kernel does not have to be GNU or unix like environment.

| Well, to sum up somethings a little short and crude here..
Amiga's ceo, Bill M. is so impressed with the work Jamie has put into the avd for amiga os 4.0 so he decides to hire him, thus due to workload/nda Jamie cant work on it...
one way to look at things is that They bought out Jamie in a sence to kill off development of os 4.0,
good for jamie with an good employment, bad for the amiga os 4.0 commuinty? good in the long run for the amiga scene?
as far as i can tell Jamie seems to be an genuine amiga user,
not saying Jamie is a lapdog or being bought, but the effect of him being hired by amiga inc did indeed make the result of avd being put in a closet. and especially since he himself and nda's sees working on avd as working for an competioneer. maybe avd wouldnt been worked on if he got an employment else where either
and i sure wish Jamie can take with him some of the things said by alot of people here, good and bad, to alot of people,. or atleast myself i see Amiga inc as a company that doesn't seem to care or even work towards the market the amiga usuers are... to me it seems amiga inc just ended up with a name they want to make something else of then it was, and as alot of amiga users/fans feel let down, when supporters are felt left in the cold supporters can easily become an an very critic force.
summa summarum,. hyperion put out os 4.0. sam440 is out...... amiga inc made a tip calculator and snowman maker not even working on an amiga...
amiga inc have missed out on may market opertunities, they could have been involved in some minimig type development for instace..
i'm glad to hear some one from amiga inc actually speak and answer questions, for amiga inc's sake towards the amiga scene i wish bill would speak up, not more false or premature statesments that later fall out of grace and what ever just never materialise, just come out and speak about something, and for gods sake update that darn homepage its embarrassing...

I think he's referring to post #153 here
|
I call it like I see it. Since he codes whatever Bill asks...perhaps he posts whatever Bill asks as well. The best thing he could do is produce something (AVD) rather than make posts in a public forum where everything he posts can and will be used against him...
I doubt he's putting in 80 hour work weeks working for his current employer. I think he could do option 1 if he really wanted to. |

Thanks for your personal insight into the current situation with Hyperion and Amiga Inc. as well as with AVD development, it was...well...most insightful!
I can totally sympathize with your situation and respect what you have had to do to survive and am actually surprised that you've not dropped the community in complete disgust.
I totally agree 100% with your thoughts concerning the ongoing battle between Hyperion and Amiga Inc. I too also originally threw all of my support behind Amiga Inc. and Hyperion and their AOS4, forsaking all other flavours of Amiga, for the same reasons you did. Although I agree with you on who most likely instigated this and who has a greater interest in draging it out, I can't however say that I have any respect left for either of the companies involved in these long and protracted legal shananigans though and don't see much hope for anything positive ever coming out of it, no matter who wins - assuming you can call it winning - the legal battle.

As a moderator you should really think about what you write, you sound really angry yourself in your post and there is really no point in doing that, do you really think you will get a proper reply? |
You ripped the words right out of my mouth.

from your link...

He added, "We believe and have alleged in the complaint that Factor 5 and White Harvest are essentially the same company, being run by the same people, being represented by the same sets of lawyers, with all the same management and ownership and control, performing all the same work that they were doing at Factor 5, just now with a new name and a new address."
Some instances of fraudulent conveyance occur when a party transfers assets to another entity, such as a newly-founded company, and retains ownership of those properties, albeit under a different name, in order to put them out of reach of creditors. |
Well that scenario does sound similar to what Hyperion alleges, thats for sure. But any further talk on this probably should be in another thread, since this does not relate to Jamie's hiring really._________________ Pegasos2 G3 running AOS 4.1 and MorphOS 2.0 Amikit user, tinkering with Icaros VM (AROS) EFIKA owner Amiga 1200 |
