Yes...actually many of the old 68k games run fine under Basilisk II as it is right now...but 3D FPS games run dog slow. The same is true under Debian Linux on a micro A1....3D games run far too slow to be playable...you have to have OS4 conversions to be able to play them at all. So hopefully JIT enabled BasiliskII will run #D games a lot faster than the current version. That will be nice.

im sure i make some benchmark under macos of basilisk II is 40 time more slower of my 060 66mhz with fiusion But if i run Quake 68k time demo under petunia the jit cpu under my sam is 2x time more faster of my 604e 375 on amiga 4000
you can see my timedemo bench here :)
http://amiga.ikirsector.it/forum/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=17576
Im sure under jit we will have os 3,9 at the same speed of an 68060 200mhz and the same will be for Basilisk II

It is running quite decently already even without JIT enabled it is quite usable.

Wow! Equivalent to a 108MHz 68020! What machine is this running on?

That number actually varies, i can get a lower score, say on osx, that says 200mhz. But its running on a Powerbook 5.6, 1.67 ghz G4.
So its well worth trying already ;) Last edited by mike on 01-May-2013 at 11:01 AM.

Interesting speed difference between 460EX and 7447A. G4 1.6 GHz is certainly not 30 times faster than 460EX 1.1 GHz, maybe it is thanks to bigger L2 cache (or much better E-UAE port). |

It's the port, i get dismal benchmarks running the "original" uae.
@tlosm
I have Morphos on it also yes, but i dont really use it, yet... the speed of Morphos on the thing is absolutely amazing though, blows everything else out of the water, literal 2 second boot
Theres some more benchmarks screenshots here http://threader.zapto.org/osx , but i haven’t benched MorhpOS yet, since im not a registered user it would probably be a pain to compile in 30 minute intervals Last edited by mike on 01-May-2013 at 11:50 AM. The percentage of emualted fetatures is improving each month, so we can hope for a big initial release sooner now, rather than later.

Hmm, commenting seems broken over there.
Wondering what's wrong with the temporary-register-less width=((width-1)&31)+1; ?

I am not sure what you mean on broken comments, I receive comments time to time.
Theoretically nothing is wrong with your solution, but what I mentioned in the post is exactly the same that can be implemented using two PowerPC instructions:
add r0,r3,-1 rlwimi r3,r0,26,26
While your solution needs three instructions:
add r3,r3,-1 andi. r3,r3,31 add r3,r3,1
So, you saved a register (variable), but that runs slower most likely. (Not necessary, though.) But my goal was illustrating the exact PowerPC code using C.

| @Questions.
Nothing is done and dusted. For me I'm watching this space with pop-corn and a lot of movies.
On a tangent they rambled on from time to time, but heck to date I've serviced more than 150+ customers at my new 536 Nepean Hwy, BonBeach Victoria 3196 location.
I guess I'm just lucky when it comes to customers.
Back to another tangent world.. Yipeee it will be gr8 to finally see a working JIT for PPC. Never mind the bugs it will create or fix, priceless.

| I can`t wait for this. I bet more effort has gone into writing 68k-PPC JIT compilers than anything else in the Amiga world over the years; what`ll this be, three now? Did AmiGenerator have one too? _________________ Fraggle
