@meet.mrnrg

You can run WHDLoad installed games by doubleclick on their (original) icons in WB... (through E-UAE of course)

@pavlor

What about demos ? For example can i run some hd-installed demos by just double-click ?
And will be it in the window, or in full screen ? Or it's all configurable ? or maybe hot-keys for ?

WHDLoad supports some demos:

If it is supported by WHDLoad, then yes.

It depends on your E-UAE configuration.

@pavlor

OK. Is it any faster?
1) I'm assuming its faster to launch!
2) That it emulation speed of application or game is same!

@pavlor
Did latest e-uae for os4 works fine ? I mean no "glitches" , everythink works, fast, etc ? Nothink "bad" what you can said about ?:) Whic version better, sdl one, or classic one ?

I just refering to whdload site, and found that it support many demos too, including my favorites like - 9 fingers, technological death, nexus, etc.

Will be really cool, if i can just double click on it, and have it working on os4..

ps. What you can say about gluae ? As i read on site it's somethink what can be good.

@Saimo
did you works on gluae still ? Or it's good enough already ?

@kas1e

gluae - looks like an interesting solution.

E-UAE all in all look like a lot more attention though IMHO, especially for Sam440xxx users;

2007-03-27 = (LAST RELEASE) - E-UAE-0.8.29-WIP4 released

Why so long ago, { probably because we don't donate enough }

Anyway for those who feel the E-UAE PPC project is a useful thing to have now or for the
future, please donate @ :

Does anyone remember how win95 supported old DOS applications? It was petty cool, you could either go with the default compatibility settings or right click over-ride and set application specific properties.

Anway, getting WDHLOAD install's running with a simple click in OS4 would be a good start

Thanks pavlor...

2008-01-13 is better than 2007, but still more than a year and half old.

We can only wait ha!

@Pavlor
It's you working on e-uae for os4 ?

I tested the last public version, and tryed some demos. In fullscreen mode with 640x480 it works fine on peg2 ! Fast, with music and so on, cool. Still some glitches in e-uae code itself (for example, on winuae demo called Technological Death works fine, on e-uae, somethere in the middle of demo everuthink stop works (music plays, but black screen, what mean that somethink wrong with chipset emulation still) ).

But the same config, but in window-mode, works slow. Music suttered ..

And the questions:
1. have e-aue any hotkey, to swith beetween full-screen and window mode ?
2. maybe you can give some "Speedup" tricks to make e-uae works faster as possibly ?

@meet.mrnrg
I tryed GLUae , it works just fine. Right now i can run some demos just by double-click on icon. At mometn the problems with e-uae config itself.. But i think it can be solved

E-UAE on AmigaOS4.1 (and MorphOS) supports only interpretive emulation and is quite slow compared to f.ex. winUAE.
What's needed is JIT 68K code emulation to speed things up.
Especially AmigaOS4.1 users with slower machines will gain a lot from a JIT version of E-UAE.

What's needed is a faster machine and new applications. Both will make this JIT EUAE useless.

There's no need to spend resources on that...

???? Some games (Gloom Deluxe, Ambermoon, SimCity 2000 etc.) require JIT even on computer of my brother (WinUAE, Core 2 Quad Q6600 2400 MHz)...

Are you kidding ? Gloom already flies on a slow iMac w/core2@1.8ghz...

And that's without any patch. I'm sure Gloom can be run using P96 native chunky screens: would even be faster...

Any other game I should try without JIT ? :)

Anyway, I'm sure there are games which (really ;)) would need JIT, but does it really justify putting resources on it ? There will always be games that will refuse to work, or won't run at full speed... I think emulation is good enough. Having a faster processor would be enough to run almost any game at full speed. And a lot of other games could be run using DOSBox, probably faster (SimCity 2k comes to my mind).

You didn't buy OS4 + a new machine to run Gloom Deluxe and SimCity 2k, did you ?

I wonder if this bounty was advertised on MOS sites too.
They will benefit from it too. Can someone make sure it was announced on MorphZone? Thanks

Gloom Deluxe is OK in 320x256 (but I prefer higher resolution), Gloom (old) is very slow. Ambermoon is NOT playable without JIT (try it yourself). Many AGA games are little bit slow without JIT (hopefuly I can run them in DosBox).
