Could X be a port to X-box 360?

Although I have no clue what it is, I keep thinking that the MAP's got to be
something aimed at substantially increasing revenue to Hyperion. A
technically challenging addition to the OS or application software, however
helpful to current OS4 users, just isn't enough, IMHO. It's gotta expand the
userbase---probably has to involve a new (at least to AmigaOS) type of
hardware device: something that a whole lot more than just us want to
run right out and get. ?????

They have said it will please most current Amiga fans, and it isn't a port to
X86 (I'm sure other statements have been made---I just can't remember
them).

More clues, please...

Smells like a riddle to me.

When is X not a letter? When it marks the spot; or is a sign. An omen is a sign. When is X not an "omen"? When it is a multiplier.

Multiple CPU support anyone?

Cheers!

Another point of view:

On screen with GURU meditaion - yellow word OM, sign that is hidden message in guru meditation text?
On screen with ? icon - yellow word ENIGMA, sign that is encrypted message in picture?

Maybe, OM and ENIGMA are only clue and they do not any connection with puzzle?

I don't know

Anything that would bring open office and other missing applications to Amiga would mean thousands of new Amigans

Bring it up !

Nice thinking. Not sure that it is a multiCPU support but fun nevertheless.

@Raffaele

"AmigaOS wil be cerfified as RTOS?"

IMO, also that would be "ambitious", so, a good idea for MAP.

@Tuxedo

Adding memory protection would be very ambitious if it's done without breaking old apps.

@Boot_WB

Reverse engineered xbox360 support would be ambitious.
Another ambitious thing would be to use similar PPC chip for next AOS4 desktop.
(it would mean that SMP/AMP and a lot of work all around memory and process handling etc. would be needed)

@all
I hope that FiXstars is their new HW partner for MAP. (AOS4 to ship with next powerstation system, with YDL, etc...)
http://www.terrasoftsolutions.com/support/hardware/powerstation.shtml

also... My AOS4.1 did not have any real Extras stuff. Perhaps AOS4.1.1 will have Extras disk with something big.

@Rudei

Don't be too glued... last night I stayed up until 3am (not too difficult considering the date ) and they still hadn't updated, but this morning at 10am the site already had the January 1 content. I'm guessing they're doing the updates around breakfast time, PST.

I have no solution to all this, but what wonders me greatly is how Rogue et al found time to create this tantalizing and brainsplitting enigma. I mean: they say they are working on Timberwolf; they are supposed to work on MAP and that all seems to be a lot of work. Still they find time to fool us big time...

Don't they have a private life? No wife/children/family? Or are they just briljant?

No, don't say anything, Rogue. I think I know pretty much what you'll answer...

@Johan

Why would Hans-Joerg or Thomas have been the ones that created the website?

I get the feeling I missed the joke........ I bet the next post down will explain it to me.

I shall prepare to hit the "lol" keys!

@Johan

I think they have had holidays during christmas & new year.
To me it seems that MAP info is just waiting the right moment, like the CES show, or some HW announcement or CD's coming from the factory, etc...

btw, I hope the whole boing ball is not build from those pieces, it would take some time ... at least untill CES.

@TheDaddy

I think many folks here just tend to be misdirected by such words as X or Omen, A-Eon.

X might be related to MacOSX or X window. But we've got AmiCygnix, AmigaOS4 is not supposed to be hosted on MacOSX, the only option is finishing Moana (my bet #2). But X means "mystery", it is to distract from real marks.

Same goes with OMEN or AEON - those are mystery terms, nothing else. So they add no extra value into the play.

My opinion of course but I guess we should stick to something more promising than those phrases bearing no further information to us.

@bitman

Also there was a youtube video of UAE on (a clone of) nokia A-eon... but surely official 68k AOS launch for the phone would not be ambitious enough. Perhaps AOS4 player for cell phones would be MAP for Hyperion, perhaps not.

... someone could also glue MAEMO into this ...
