mmmh....I am thinking about it... not a bad idea...he'd have to give in after a bit!

But I am busy trying to finish off my case for the end of this month, Loriano's (TheDaddy) MAP!

@arsipaani et al

Good catch there!

@Thread

The circuit layout looks to me either like an unpopulated mini-pci slot (which may suggest a tie-in with Acube's EyeMotion or an unpopulated sodimm slot - both of which are suggestive of a laptop mainboard (esp with the TTL interface of the EyeMotion).

@Trev

Having dealt with you over Ebay a couple of times I also know you're true first name, but won't confirm anything here. There's little enough anonymity in the Amiga-centric community!

@A-eon Technology Partners

If this is a laptop I'll almost certainly be buying one, and will also have a case of good beer sent to each of your houses by way of thankyou!
From the buildup, I expect you are very close to (or in) production. If so, I congratulate you on your excellent handling of the community in not releasing any hint of the project until now.

@anonymous journalist

Good campaign sir/madam - you've managed to get a lot of people excited about this in a positive way

I am sure you are going to like it (I hope at least)...prototype coming soon, E.T.A. of the finished product 15.2.2010

@Boot_WB

Lets hope it's not a laptop. I don't want a laptop. I want a fast desktop.

I saw this on the OS-News forum. It looks like it reveals an awful lot!

Whoops, somebody posted while I was looking at the other site.

@Boot_WB

If it is a laptop/netbook, I would expect it to be shown @ CES 2010, to get a lot more audience & customers. (but I did not find a-eon or Amiga or Hyperion in CES pages)

btw. Acube has said that their GFX card and new PPC460 board is not Amiga related.

Not sure if anyone's spotted this but the TITLE of the page 3.html is "Time for a new beginning."

I certainly hope so! Although it might mean my SAM is made obsolete

@jaseinblack

AmigaOne again = new beginning, this time AInc not in our way?

and ... it now smells like MP & AOS5 beginning...
also IIRC, Ares & icaros people have started co-operation with Hyperion, to get kickstart ROMs etc.. Perhaps we will have several CPU architectures in one boX?
Yet another red motherboard:

True, my two SAMs will be obsolete too, good for second hand market if you want newer hardware, this has been the pc strategy in the market for years.

But only if you want/need a faster machine.

I'll give them this: they have moved beyond "We're being #### and not telling anyone" to building up some actual anticipation with a fairly clever marketing program, so I salute that.

You know what would be realy ambitous ? And daring.
Also compliant with 'Enigma' and the puzzle piece.

An AmigaOS powered gameconsole !

Called 'A-EON' or 'EnigmA' or something...

Could it be ?

That would certainly be ambitious and commercial suicide IMHO.

also... Enigma is also some user interface for Digital TV set-top-boxes.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DreamBox
http://www.dream-multimedia-tv.de/english/products_flyer.php

+ IIRC, AMD now produces PPC chips for xbox360 and they also produce some DTV chips, perhaps it will have some MysteryMonsterChip.

While everybody has seemed to note that the letters A, M, I, and G disappeared in todays clue, did it occur to anyone that the remaining letters spell Omen AEon?
