@steril606

Off course i would love the x1000 be called "Amiga" This is not my point. At device level,the name is great,but as a company name,not so much. Not because i don't like it,but because of the financial aspect of it. The only thing Amiga.inc managed to do in later years,was to destroy the company name reputation.,but not the brand name itself.

Off course you want the Amiga name for all future products of Hyperion. And having the Amiga.com domain could only be a positive thing in the right hands. Plus the Logos and namerights to everything thats left.

Whoever wants the X1000 being called "Amiga" instead of "AmigaOne" may raise his hand. I am surely the first one, and I cannot believe there are people who think different on this matter..

I cannot even believe we have a discussion about this...

You took the words right out of my mouth,my hand is up

In the interests of accuracy, they never tried to defraud anyone over the Kent Stadium fiasco, it was simply a marketing deal which went south - the first payment for the marketing deal never got paid.

Well, Kent thought they had entered into a contract and it was reported in the press that Bill Mc had told Kent that (in so many words) the cheque was in the post. It's hard to believe that Amiga Inc were being honest with Kent.

Anyway it was not just those two things. How about the disingenuous 'manufacturing deal' with ACK (when ACK couldn't even return peoples broken A1s let alone start a manufacturing run).
Or the shady company shell games.

But, when all is said and done, I suspect that if Bill McEwen was independent (ie: had won the lotto) and had bought the company from Gateway, I should think that he and Fleecy would have been much more positive without the investors.
It is obvious that the investors only allowed Bill to give the existing platform 'stuff for free' - ie from third parties like Eyetech and Hyperion.

@steril606

Just call it the "Hyperien Amiga X1000"

The thing to remember is that Amiga was nothing more then a product name 'back in the day' they were "Commodore Amiga xxxx" So why not have the Hyperien Amiga X1000 (abbreiviated to HAX1000 as a nod to HAL in 2001 )

Just a quick question.

If Amiga Inc have gone bye bye then who gets the Amiga name?

I know Hyperion can use the name AmigaOne and AmigaOS but where does Amiga name go?

@Caveman

I suupose if Hyperion got the URL then it could just simply redirect to thier own website onto the 'Amiga Computer' pages, or the OS4 site if that is still available.

Definitely. Investors give as much or even more importance to the people behind a project as they do to the money return potential of the project idea itself.

I think there one question we all want answer to
"How many snowman maker software did they ship?"

I have to wounder whats Amiga Inc been up to for the last 2 years really, nothing has really come from them, I think they tried to get new support for Amiga Anywhere 2.0 but just did'nt happen, they tried to get control back of the AmigaOS, but I have wounder what for and what there plans was for the OS if they did win, but they failed and nothing since, so I do wounder if Hyperion did a offer from Amiga to buy the whole company and maybe bought them out, thats what I'm hoping for anyway.
