@JamieKrueger

And what about joining efforts with CodeBench?

Simon may give his thought here too.

I always believe it's better for motivation to work together so that there is a faster progress...

Simon and I talked about the possibility of merging the AVD code into CodeBench
back when I was considering someone to take over the project/go open source with
it. Now that AVD development has been restarted, I am proceeding to complete it
as I promised.

However, I did email Simon again to reopen the discussion. Whether the two projects
can be merged together or not, I will make every effort to support the use of CodeBench
with AVD, and I am open to the possibility of a partial or complete merger. Both of us
have a significant investment in both time and money in our respective efforts, so any
possible merger would require coming to acceptable financial terms for both parties as
well.

Either way, I think Simon is doing a great job with CodeBench and I will support his
efforts as he has supported mine in the past. :)

Best Regards,

Jamie Krueger

@JamieKrueger

IIRC, simon would like to see Amiga specific debugger (perhaps a good GUI around GDB could be it), instead of plain GDB, so at least that part should be worth co-operation.

There's a lot of interest in an improved gdb itself, as people say what we have now has some issues.

@asymetrix

"lose"! and it happened three years ago or more.

looks like he was last heard about, wanting to get a tester x1k:
http://www.amigans.net/modules/xforum/viewtopic.php?viewmode=compact&order=ASC&topic_id=4942&forum=21

(edit: see you know already)

who knows if it ever happened, as his own page is filled with good intentions but actually never doing something except putting up a sponsoring and a preorder initiative:
http://bitbybitsoftwaregroup.com/index.php
seems like a kind of business people are pretty familiar around here. i dont know if this is such a problem, that he left.

@Dirk-B

I just received two mailings from Jamie Krueger regarding a new release of SDK Browser - free to registered owners.

I suspect Amigaworld will see an influx of Walking Dead Amigans, like myself, rising up and checking out AmigaWorld again!

Quote:
Hello, I am happy to announce that a new build, (the first new release in 10 years), of the SDK Browser for AmigaOS4 is now waiting for you in your respective private download area. A separate email containing a link to your personal copy of the SDK Browser v2.0.0.100 will be sent to you shortly. (If you still have your old download link from version 1.6.0.0, it may be used to download the newest version). This is a Release Candidate for v2.1.0.0, which I would like to make public before Christmas (yes, *this* year) . Therefore, if you find any issues with this version, please report them right away so they can be addressed before v2.1 is released. The SDK Browser v2.1.0.0 will be released to all registered owners as a FREE upgrade. After this release, you may still upgrade to future versions of the SDK Browser for a small upgrade fee. If you have also purchased the AVD Suite, this version of the SDK Browser will integrate with it. Also, a full rebuild (updating the code to build against the latest AmigaOS SDK and using updated API calls) of the AVD Suite will be made available as soon as I can complete the port of the remaining AVD components. For more information see the BITbyBIT website. You may also reply to this message.
