Yeah, you'll be ok after a while... Milton Keynes is good for teaching you about roundabouts too, you'll be *very* used to them

I also plan to rent a car if I go there, but I am little scared to drive from the passenger seat.

I haven't tried driving a British (right hand drive) car myself either, but I did drive around the UK with my wife and my parents for a couple of weeks in my own car about ten years ago, and that went okay. Just remember to look right, not left, when entering a roundabout, that was the hardest part. As well as of course when you enter the road the first time in the morning from the driveway of the BnB or whatever. Luckily my passengers always helped me remember. In chorus, too .

Driving a car with the steering wheel in the "correct" side (relative to the side of the road you're using) should be an advantage, though, so I expect it to be easier this time.

I heard it's pretty hard to outrun other cars with right steering wheel.

You mean overtake (pass around)? Well, the rental car will have right hand steering like everybody else, so that should make it easy enough, as you will be sitting in the "outer" side of the car. It was harder for me in my left hand driven car, because the car in front of you would block more of the view ahead.

Best regards,

Niels

Just to confirm, I will be attending the VCF and hope to showcase an A1-X1000 running AmigaOS4 and Timberwolf. BTW there is an photo on the AmigaOS4 install screen on an A1-X1000 on the new A-EON website. Hope to see many of you at the show in June.

Living in a left hand drive country and travelling a lot I tend to just automatically adjust to the side of the road. I remember visiting Jamaica (traveling with a friend, coming from the states) and it took me almost three hours before I realised that they drive on the same side we do! The mind just adjusts.

The hardest thing I find when I travel is left turns on two way streets, it seems so strange to go across traffic to do a left turn...

Gah! I'll have to stay sober for the day - I'm on chauffeur duty until the evening so will only be going out for beers in Milton Keynes town centre later on... Oh well!

I think there's a group of us hoping to go out for beers afterwards although nothing is arranged yet!

Just some information I have received from the Museum on admission charges;

"You will actually be buying a season ticket to both Bletchley Park and to The National Museum of Computing - so not only does the £10 last two days - it last the rest of the year as well."

It might be worth putting this on the web site for the event.

Also the Campamile Hotel is fully booked for that weekend unless there are cancellations.

Yup... There are plenty of B&Bs around the area though, and a few hotels in Milton Keynes too - unless they're full of stag parties

@Rudei
Sounds good, will try to be at whatever happens...

@Daedalus

Some more information I have received;

"The nearest hotel which still has rooms available is the Doubletree Hilton by the MK Dons stadium (0845 4545045). It isn't cheap though - just under £80 a night.

I've just spoken to the local tourist board and they've advised us to try their website - www.destinationmiltonkeynes.co.uk - which has a search and booking facility.

Coventry is about 75 minutes away, so hopefully you'll be able to make full use of your visitor pass!

Sorry about the hotels - we're not that far from Silverstone and the MotoGP is the same weekend (we picked the date first!). Consequently, Milton Keynes gets very busy."

Sounds like a fun place !!

Don't know about availability but this hotel might be worth a look, especially if you're into golf as its right next to a course. Is in north west Milton Keynes, but close to the A5, about 10 minutes to Bletchley Park and a relatively roundabout free drive .

Stony Stratford is also worth a look as not far by car to Bletchley Park and has some good pubs for the evening.

@Daniel

The places i looked at were www.booking.com and www.laterooms.com.

Failing Hotels, there are Inns and Hostels.

Milton Keynes City Center rooms are only 20-30 min bus ride I think to Bletchley.
