@eder

I don't think so, no. Its just a reference to the obelisk from 2001, as far as i can tell.

Is there any Swedish spies here who can take a walk down to the Swedish factory.

Personally I'd prefer something more compact, but we're just guessing here ain't we?

@arsipaani

I don't think so, it's the mockup from the german AF mag #83 (which has a disclaimer about that) and the only resemblance with the hidden.jpg is the recessed boing pattern.

And if you take a closer look it actually is a boing picture that was merged/blended on top of a "Fractal Design Define R2" case (as indentified by Rooster) and bleeds a bit too far on the right edge of the case.

Oh btw that ball only has 7 rows... tsk tsk

And of course we already know that the case will be a completely wireless hovering boing ball powered by induction which projects the screen/keyboard on the wall/desk.

It'd be nice if it was. It's a nice solid, quiet case and it's reasonably priced at ~£80-85 in retail. Fractal Design also offer it to system integrators and do a range of solid, efficient (80 plus certified) power supplies which could be bundled with it.

@TrevorDick

Please remember to supply a psu which can and will be able to connect several fans onto it. I mean , the psu, can deliver the capacity of power needed when all fans are placed on case and is also supplied with the power cable extenders (I don't knwo how they are called in English, I hope you understand my message).

Best regards,

@Cool_amigaN

Unless you're planning on using some huge fans to make the case hover , I'm not sure why you're concerned with the power consumption of the fans.

The load from a cooling fans is around 250mA on average, or 3 watts.

What is likely to use the most power is the GFX card, e.g. a Radeon 4670 can draw as much as 60W, while the 4870 can draw more than 200W!

Then it's the CPU, my understanding is that the one on the X1000 will draw up to 20W.

The drives can draw a signicant amount of juice when spinning up i.e. 25W then they typically draw 5 to 7 watts to keep spinnnig, and possibly twice that when writing.

The remaining chips combined should only draw a few watts.

So as you can see the fans don't account for much in the equation.

@persia

It certainly looks like the inspiration for the artwork mock up.
Will it be the actual A1 X-1000 case though?

@fryguy
It's 649 DKR so it looks pretty cheap compared to what you get. Good choice it seems even if it seems BIG.

Alright many thanks! Just to point exactly what I am talking about is that this case (if that is gonna be the case, which is rather excellent imho) can wear additionally 5 fans (except the 2 included):

1 front 120mm fan

1 bottom 120mm/140mm fan

1 side panel 120mm/140mm fan

2 top 120mm/140mm fan

I would like to be able to buy them from a local computer store and connect them on the stock psu, without changing the psu for whatever reason or buying many additional cables.

Btw, I find it very very good to able to communicate with the people who are building up a product, which I am a future client and can listen to my small demands!

Wouldn't that terminate the warranty by opening the box?

I believe most Amigans will open the box the first chance the get to check out the "engine" so it would be interesting to hear how that would affect the warranty. Usually prebuilt boxes will be sealed with a sticker.

And it would of course be interesting to know what kind of warranty the Amiga X1000 will have.
