Had to Google for Ironstone Partners, they're the ones from the C64 Joystick thing right?
Their license probably only covers that specific product or may be non exclusive.

And they're even breaking their own licenses.

The only custom case they have is their Commodore 64. They intend to make the Amiga one sometime later, they are focusing on their WB 5 and getting them out there at the moment.

Even the Phoenix isn't theirs, its made by one of their partners.

But this is not uncommon in a business which is trying to work off of two things. Brand, and high volumes produced.

Its a good move to start with, remember they need to use the cash for an onslaught if they intend to get anywhere with this.

Then they produce that gorgeous looking prototype and polish their OS up for the next attack.

Indeed it could non-exclusive.
But this is obviously a valid license for "C64" or we would not have them mentioned in the Hyperion/AI settlement agreement.
In case that is not enough product name confusion, then the fact that Asiarim is Yeahronimo Media Ventures, who have expressed the statement "other Commodore companies" before, leads one to believe that there could be multiple companies with these labels. What will those products be and what level of confusion beyond what we've already seen will exist?

It would look great with a large vinyl graphic of the AresOne logo on top and the AresOne written on the front. Whoever is second to market with their own branding on this case will be the copycat.

and this has what, exactly, to do with 'commodore USA?' if you might recall, i was also somewhat unhappy when A-EON did that, and called them on it here. the difference there was that trevor did the photoshop job because the original shots had bad lighting, which he showed us later; trevor has been nothing but a class-act when it comes to this community, something that can't be said for the 'commodore USA' principals. another difference is that i have actually seen, touched, and used the X1000, whereas 'commodore USA' has yet to ship product.

my complaint here isn't over a misunderstanding or a simple mistake. my complaint is the constant unauthorized re-use of images and copy on a corporate web site purporting to represent the return of the once-great commodore. a company that wants everyone to take it seriously when it seems to have perpetual 'foot-in-mouth' disease when it comes to this community.

i want to give 'commodore USA' a chance. i want to believe. copying text from a site of case resellers doesn't help. A-EON have made a few mistakes. they've addressed them. 'commodore USA' keeps making the same ones over and over and over....

i really don't appreciate that sort of accusation. when A-EON did the photoshop job, i called them on it. i came around because of their subsequent actions. i had come around on 'commodore USA' until this week, and now i don't know how to feel about it, frankly.

their fans acting the way they do on this site, by the way, doesn't help.

EDIT: i want to make clear to everyone here that i am pulling for the commodore guys. i'm really enthused about what is possible. sometimes, though, certain things bug me, like what appears to be lifting copy from another web site. i should say that karma, being aumro's distribution arm, probably already provided that copy separately to 'commodore USA' and i should have checked my facts first before commenting. i'm sure barry can clear that question up if he'd like.

like with the A-EON photoshop incident: i have little doubt that these guys are serious and that they intend to ship something this community will enjoy on some level or another. niggling stuff like this, though, gives ammunition to the doubters out there and unnecessarily suggests a lack of professionalism that may or may not be there. i'm pulling for these guys regardless. let's see if things like this get corrected and give them the benefit of the doubt just like we did with A-EON.

Well the Amiga cases on the website are made by Aumro (TF series). Aumro has just added an interesting case to their website, the TN series, wonder if C=USA will make use of this one as well?
