Just make sure the NSA or other services cannot access it. Else your dreams could turn into nightmares for the users...

@Dandy

Survey of cloud services security anywhere?

( I noticed that some firms dislike the use of google services (as an example) regarding stuff under NDA ...)

It was just these days that we had a report about cloud computing issues on German TV, where they conducted an experiment to demonstrate how easy it is to get acces to other people's data stored in a cloud.

It is frightening easy...

They brought an interview with the former boss of MS Germany and he recommended not to use a cloud for sensible data, as they can easily be accessed by everybody from everywhere in the world.

It was also reported that e.g. Deutsche Lufthansa and Deutsche Bank are going to outsource their IT datacenters and would use clouds to store their customers data in the future. They had been promised by MS that everything would be super secure, but as the former boss of MS Germany stated, it is not.

A few weeks ago Apple a lot of praise for their idea to store all health related data in their cloud.

From my POV all this is highly worrying and I'd vote for improving the security of private data in the clouds. Currently it seems to be far to easy to get access to other peoples cloud data.

Curently I use Dropbox a bit to sync photos and translations between several of my computers, but I'm not really happy with that and am considering to use a NAS for that instead of clouds. To me it seems they are more secure...

Yep will do this after work. My android and iOS devices can show them. Maybe you could try another browser? Which one do you use?

Chrome on Android. It just gets downloaded straight to the phone directly. I go into File Explor, double click it but nothing will open it.

Hmm.. still at work. Maybe renaming tiff to tif can solve it for you.
Tif is a old Format and i never had such Troubles with it.

And they say it's secure? Well.

Transfered via SSL, encrypted on storage. It is more secure than Joe Sixpack's pirated XP for sure.

Nobody cares more about you than you. Why trust outsiders with the keys to the kingdom?

They actually turned off the password / security for four hours. So who can say when it is an inside job or not?

The truth is that if you have something valuable in there, why would you trust someone else?

@mrzammler

thanks, it didn't make any sense anyway.

@All

a dumb question maybe, but doesn't a html5 browsers have
dropbox function or other html5 cloud storage service? is there a problem accessing amiga filesystem or does it always require software client if you didn't
use synchronize..just upload..and later on download..

just wondering, sorry if this have been answered here on the forum

Upload and download via browser is working.
But as long you have no client you can't have folder syncing.
