| @kas1e & wawa
No no i am not working on OpenGL,Mesa,Gallium,etc... for OS4 Sorry :-/
In fact in 2011 i didnt coded a lot :-/
Recently i just wrote a little library to handle .obj files (wavefront 3D format) : In fact it is a very small & efficient 3D engine It is based on the existing "smooth2" program (for loading/manipulating objects) "cow3D-2" (that draw directly with Warp3D) and StormMesa sources (only for the lighting shader) This library is still not finished ... The goal is to have something very simple to load a 3d file and display it
About Wazp3D/Os4: as it seems that some people are trying to use it with Blender/OS4/Sam460 ==> i have corrected some bugs so next release will allow Blender/OS4/MiniGL/Warp3Dv5 to works (I mean Blender works now but the new version is not yet released)
Also I am working to add to Wazp3D for Aros the same functionnality that already exists in WinUAE : I mean doing Wazp3D->OpenGL so allowing hardware rendering I am in the compiling/testing stage

i interprete it that wazp will interface with aros hw (gallium?) driver on aros to use hw acceleration in paralell with aros native opengl implementation? sounds cool. |

>i interprete it that wazp will interface with aros hw (gallium?) driver on aros to use hw acceleration in paralell with aros native opengl implementation?
It will just do on Aros Wazp3D -> Mesa (=OpenGL) -> Gallium3D I mean i will NOT call directly Gallium3D (because Gallium3d is not so well documented)
It will act the same way (and with the same working code) that on WinUAE Wazp3D -> soft3d.library -> soft3d.dll -> OpenGL32.dll
The only difference is that --> soft3d.library -> soft3d.dll will not be needed as we will not do 68k to x86 calls So Wazp3D.library --> Mesa.library
BTW if someone know how to compile a library in Aros ??? cause the sources are ready but i am desesperating to make them compile in Icaros....

| @thellier asking on aros exec might not be as effective, some info should be here http://aros.sourceforge.net/ as you sure know but best is to join the aros dev ml, i think and ask there.
btw, i can use the full verrsion of wazp3d i have under aros68k on uae with no bigger problems. the text isnt displayed correctly but thats just about that. demos like cow3d work ok, stormmesa still doesnt though. We are all eager to know new developments. OpenGL and hardware accelerated drivers are the most wanted for me. :)

We'll have to wait a bit more for Gallium I think!
OT: I've read on italian forum (the ikir's one) that OS4.1 for classics CDs are now in production, and we'll have to wait for the next update (the third) nexts months!

| As i say in the very begining (after amiwest news that gallium will be ported) : it will take 1-2 years in the _very_ good way. But to fixing bugs, making HW acceleration works fast and fine, i think it can be up to 3 years in summ.
As i know Rogue only one works on it right now, dunno if Hanz help him or not (Hanz write on his blog that next think to concetrate its 3d, but we do not know if he works on it already or not, and if Rogue have any progress in real integration or not). All what we know for now : Rogue compile SW version of MESA, which in general nothing interesting.
So, my verdict as one who can check the reality and past : from that moment it will take about 8-12 month in very good way, and in worse way 2-3 years and more. Last edited by kas1e on 03-May-2011 at 01:23 PM.

There is not much what we can to do , because we not core-os4 devs (and all that gallium3d integration drive pretty deep to 2d drivers, p96 and to the OS itself, to which we not have access). All what we can do for now, its just wait, and be in hope that it will be more or less fast. Then, when first release will come, we can do heavy speed tests and make our decissions :) _________________ Join us to improve dopus5! zerohero's mirror of os4/os3 crosscompiler suites |

I think.. or rather hope you maybe overestimate the time-frame there. Yes I can believe 6-12 months, but not 2-3 years. That AROS guy did it under 12 months and that was only 1 person.
I don't want to get in a big discussion about it at this stage as its all speculation and guess work! But yes asking today or rather last week 'is there any news?' is expecting far too much! I think its fair to wait til this year's AmiWest and take it from there. Fingers crossed whoever/which people is/are gonna get this done devote his/her/their time to it 100%.
@kas1e
Hey just read that interview about the SpotUp music disk... did you let it slip that the latest version of MUI-OWB is to be called 'Himon'?
If I have read it correctly - what's the story behind the name? :) Last edited by djrikki on 04-May-2011 at 02:25 AM. Last edited by djrikki on 04-May-2011 at 02:23 AM. Last edited by djrikki on 04-May-2011 at 02:20 AM.

Yep agree, not to mention that for what we know Gallium already started many months ago (maybe after the AmiWest announcement) but of course we will see, bring a timeline is pure speculation for now ... _________________ BACK FOR THE FUTURE

Have you replied to the "Hyperion is looking for you" thread?
It seem's that you are skilled enough to contribute in the OS development too
