Consumer protection association.

Its not the same, since its not made by same factory
as well as Beetle (Bug or Frog in Balkans) doesn`t have the exact
same modeling name (New Beetle vs Volkswagen Type 1)

I&I believe Hitlers Beetle was more of peoples car, similar to CBM.

While, yes general retromania.

In the same manner, would NOT have anything against
Commodore USA x1200, 1200x or whatever.

That is a real state of things.

I'm first to admit I don't know anything about cars. The buggy analogy is similar to me because I knew people who where "offended" by new Beetle. That's it.

>>You have to come to terms with the fact that there's people, lot of people, that don't give a #### about philosophies, traditions, culture, DNA.

What you don't seem to grasp is the fact that the people who don't give a #### about traditions, culture, DNA are the VERY SAME PEOPLE who for months have tried to shove it down our throats and to those people I say you are WASTING your time with us.

>>There's people who's only interested in looks.

Wrong again. Why? Because they are not EVEN interested in looks but JUST A NAME.

Analogy is not OK, since rebranding was done by same company ages after
to make contemporary look a like.

Yes, I&I find offensive the price range and idea of exploit of both bug (Beetle) and mini moris, since these two were cheap and not fancy cars in the ways they were popular.

In same level, I&I find offensive CUSA slogan of "Computer you can afford"
which should also resemble "Computers for masses".

But this is NOT "One laptop for child" or similar approach to make something alternative to Windows, cheap computing. Its overpricing existing one simply for profit.

And using Amiga history and glory just for such cause, is no crime, but is a moral offense to people that have lived that era.

That is why I&I find "CUSA Amigans" as people with no roots, history, perspective, reason or morale.

Well, I'm happy for mr Altman that he managed to ship these things.

Of course, in order to get here, he needed to steal countless people's works; threaten me with legal action; create a cheesy website about me claiming I was gay, and insinuating that being gay was a bad thing; post fake pictures (I just learned from this thread); re-badge existing hardware; and re-badge Ubuntu.

I personally wouldn't have been able to go through all that effort to become an x86 OEM, but good on him for sticking to his guns! HP and Dell better watch out.

I have to say that I am totally impressed with how Commodore USA has spun up its operations to shipping their first products. The packaging looks impressive and I think overall the product looks great. Shipping it with Ubuntu is another nice addition and I guess I am curious about the Commodore OS coming out. Too bad Haiku OS is still not ready for prime time or they could base Commodore OS off of that code base.

So it looks like CUSA are also a homophobic company...interesting. Thanks for sharing this vital piece of info.

I wonder if when you fill your details in to buy a C64x there are questions about your sexual orientation, height, skin colour, weight...

"Sorry you are gay, fat and short no C64x for you"

As social worker, I&I hold great interest in any evidence (links) related to homophobic part. Beside bashing me as "druggie" (evidence: mail from CEO) this is more personality outbursts and discriminating PEOPLE that oppose them, not only brands and computing platforms and CPU families.

@AmigaMac

Sarcasm?

Please buy it and let us know of keyboard and difference between Ubuntu
and CommodoOS. As well as "strenght" of integrated components (I&I assume comparable to much cheaper netbooks with Ubuntu).

Thanks. Suprisingly for AmigaMac, since it cannot run AmigaOS or CommodoreOS

However, at AW.net they cannot make neither.

My point is they have taken such a project further than anyone has before (minus the AmigaOne and X1000 projects). So many projects (including the one I was involved with some years ago) that can't make it past the concept/prototype stage and die an ugly death.

Okay, on one hand, the specs are not all that impressive because it is essentially a PC with Commodore branding (which could be considered a slap in the face for such a famous brand); but then I doubt Commodore USA has the investment capital to do something beyond just using easily obtainable COTS (commercial off the shelf) parts to assemble a product and place it in nice packaging. I have to say that it is more impressive than what I was expecting from them. The only thing I think they could do better is that their website needs to get toned down, get more serious so the Commodore name is better represented. But, if Barry Altman is smart, he's probably trying to keep the costs down so he can reap the benefits of sustainability in the long term.

There are so many good projects going on in Amiga land that it's a shame that it couldn't all come together to make a great computing empire (over time).

i don't know, but he didn't post with that compound pronoun until relatively recently. he also seems to have taken up posting random references to reggae videos.

i wasn't aware of a jamaican community in serbia....

Yes, I&I use I&I, but its noting that personal that anyone cannot use.

I and I is a complex term, referring to the oneness of Jah (God) and every human. Rastafari scholar E. E. Cashmore: "I and I is an expression to totalize the concept of oneness, the oneness of two persons. So God is within all of us and we're one people in fact

Or Lyrically
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBZMPiGWDkU

So to explain it once for all, and show how Exec signature
I&I vs I&I fight is stupid. Also the way he tries to make fun out of people`s religion.
One more nail in the CUSA curfew.

I&I has been in Patois use since 30`s of 20th century.
Yes, you might see it in reggae videos.

25 years of reggae community inna Serbia,

Now, when we are "over I&I" back to topic

this is actually fascinating to me. you're gonna have to share how on earth you became a rastafarian in serbia at some point. and how you learned to speak a variant of carribean creole.

Religion:
Since this is highly off topic: over a decade dealing with local and international reggae scene in any and every aspect from promotion, dealing with artists, partaking the events, being in radio shows ... even it was quite dark time of both wars and nationalism and harsh globalization in transition. Roots reggae is spreading wheel of Rastafari, was and will for ever be. Everyone that listens e.g. Robert Nesta Marley or Burning Spear is highly influenced by it, knowing it, or not.

Patois:
As I&I learned Proper English: education, education, music, music, books, books. Any language can be mastered, and Patois is just variant of English, that is in some manners even look a like to Serbian reading of words.

So, its religion of choice, not the one imposed over I&I.

Satisfied?

Now, back to the main topic, my religion doesn`t change any of the CUSA deeds, and by the deeds man shall be known. And we all know it was a lot of propaganda, smoke, and we will know quality of the products soon.

It would all be better if it was without x86 supermacism, which is to I&I equal to any other form of supermacism, racism or national chauvinism.

Money and corporate exploit without much regard to computer culture,
in this case is also classic sign in these times: no care for humans,
just for profit.

Thats how I&I religion allign with I&I resistance in this case,
as exec noted and many have been confused just by term of "double I"
