That source link is failing when I try it. I hope they convince him to use the number 64.

Couldn't access that first link even directly on their site. Just read a follow up story from your latest link. Looks like it may happen.

Network advertising is based on "seconds". This guy would be an uncontested walking advertisement during the entire game. You can't buy this kind of exposure at any price.
Think about auto racing and ads covering driver and car top to bottom, to the point where you can't see either the driver or the car well. Here you have what is essentially an exclusive ad, regardless of whether the connection to product is made by all or not. Very interesting. Best part = free.

Dunno. I watched the story develop for a long time and expected a thread encouraging people to get involved with the initiative, since you don't have to be a Red Wings' fan to get involved. I've seen nothing so far. *shrug*

Hmm...this story seems to be developing fast. Last I checked the team had not given him the official ok. Now they seemingly have:
Quote:
Detroit Red Wings say their new defenseman is free to pay homage to the early, iconic personal computer that shares his name.
Equipment Manager Paul Boyer says that if @commie22 wants to wear 64, it's all his," the team tweeted on Saturday. |

No numbers and confirmed delays. Wheeeeeeee!
When are Best Buy and Walmart getting their machines?
Good to see Cybernet are shipping their XPC (sorry, I mean VIC) series computers.
I bet Arumo can't wait to start selling their TF series (sorry, I mean Amiga) cases either! _________________ A4000(T), A3000, A2000, A1200(T), A1200, CD32, Minimig+ARM, FPGA Arcade, Chameleon64, C-One, C128, C128D, C64C, C64, VIC-20, CBM 8032, Efika. |

It's not haterade. It's "retarderade".
Dammy's been posting for years over on the Moo blasting and mocking AmigaOS4 any time there has been a delay. It's just funny now that he has been posting in March and April about the coming flood of tens of thousands of Commodore machines, telling us to "just wait and see" so smugly, only to be followed by, well pretty much nothing. Well, nothing more then stuff like the link above. D-lays.

Tens of thousands of C64xs have been shipped already. The vast majority of orders of C64x was the Ultimate model and 99% of those have now been shipped with the last 1% having customer issues that have to be resolved. Yes, there was a month delay but considering the logistics of so many orders for a small company, not unexpected. As Barry posted, they should be shipping none customized requested C64xs out of stock by Aug 1st, that means C=USA should be talking about the C64x going to brick and mortar shops around the world some time in early August.
Next up, C=USA's Commodore Amiga series later this year. :

Yesterday you said: Quote:
| They had excess of 40,000 pre-order sales that will all be shipped by end of the month. |
source
What % of owners on AW or a.org or for example actually post that they received their h/w (next generation or otherwise) and talk about it? 10%?
I think what people are having a hard time understanding is how 40,000 can be sold but only a mere handful of people have posted on Commodore-Amiga.org that they received their h/w. Is there some other place people are writing about C64x that I have not seen yet? Or did most of the pre-order you spoke about not go to garden variety users?

You do understand that there's a world outside of two or three die-hard Amiga forums, right? That people who bought the C64 back in the day and recently bought this aren't also ex-Amiga users? Or forum inhabitants?_________________ The problem with AmigaOS on PPC isn't that PPC is big-endian. The problem with AmigaOS on PPC is that PPC is dead-endian. |

Sorry. I'm not understanding that. If you're asking me if I'm aware most people are not forum inhabitants, well..I am and that's why I asked:
Quote:
| What % of owners on AW or a.org or for example actually post that they received their h/w (next generation or otherwise) and talk about it? 10%? |
Commodore-amiga.org had a huge surge in new members at the time of the Disney announcement, which is excellent. I consider them supporters and fans, so I compare response there to AW and a.org, which also is comprised of supporters and fans. Based on that I merely don't see the correlation between "40,000" or even 10,000 and the total commentary on site.
Please don't read an observance as a criticism. It's not.
Besides, Barry only mentioned percentages in his status update.
