Thought I would have a look end of quarter.

Using 93 days it shows 875 this quarter.
Using 31 for one month period shows 601.

It might partially be tied to lack of news. Dunno.

Just saw the news that the X1000 will start shipping by years end and AmigaKit will start taking pre-orders. Great news I believe for the Amiga fans.

Reminds me to a part out of George Orwell’s 1984:
They announced the shortage of chocolate rations and the loyal supporters held parades to thank Big Brother for increasing the chocolate rations.

The release of the next A1X1K batch is delayed another 6 month and the loyal supporters are cheering for this decision, sometimes I believe you hate AOS4.

You know this thread is from last year, don't you? The next X1000 batch already started shipping, and I'm thrilled to say I got one.

It is very hard to read numbers, after all...

Mine was delivered June 27, just inside second quarter for this year. I believe it's one of the first deliveries from the new (second) First Contact batch -- so no delay. Based on AmigaKit's announcements, this batch will continue rolling out to customers on a continuous basis from now until near the end of the year.

Yeah, it has been a long development and a slow rollout. But had things gone any faster I would not have had my money ready. See that? Silver lining. And a very happy Amigan here.

So according to the press release found here http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/x1000/ it must be from the 1st batch.
The 2nd batch (that should have delivered in the 2nd quarter) might be delayed until december.

@mbrantley

Wait. Let me get this straight first.

First there have been the developer boards or something like that that were delivered i guess last year already.

Then there were the first customer batch, that was delivered something like end of last year beginning of this year (forgot already).

And do you mean you got 27th of june (2 weeks ago) a machine from the second customer batch?

For if that is so, didnt they send any emails to interested people then at all?

For i sent email to Amikits or whomevers email ti was that was told to be sent to show interest towards second batch of X1000s, and I have never got any reply to it.

So was I supposed to get some reply to it even? Or did they just send messages to those who showed their interest already at first batch?

@Bugala

I don't want to speak for AmigaKit, so by all means contact them to inquire about your your status if you have registered interst in purchasing from the new batch and are aw awaiting information on that.

In my case I registered interest in the first batch but it sold out very quickly. But that that did earn me an early shot in the new batch. Someone else (sorry, forget who and where) indicated his second-batch X1000 is due to be delivered in a few days. So I'm gu guessing Amigakit is now contacting those who registered interest in the order they re received word from them. But I don't know -- just observing this from the outside, fro from far across an ocean.

Do check in and see where you stand, would be my advice.

What in the world are you talking about? Beta testers got their X1000 motherboards during the last half of 2011. The first batch of the First Contact customers got their complete X1000 machines during the first half of 2012. From what I've observed, deliveries were spread from February to June.

And now the second-batch First Contact customers are getting machines delivered during the second half of 2012. With deliveries starting now and ongoing for several months.

Nothing is "delayed" until December. But these computers are being hand assembled and hand tested, one at a time, not mass produced all on June 1 or December 1 or whatever on the AmigaOne assembly line.

Hi,
For the people who have registered interest for the 2nd batch,
Is somebody has received some news from amigakit after the 10 june mail ?

And somebody knows what is the procedure to order a x1000 after to have registered interrest ?

1) we just have to wait that amigakit contact us or
2) we need to check amigakit website to pre-order when the possibility will be available ?

Thanks for your reply,
zzd10h

Extract of the 10 june Amigakit's mail
"If you have received this email, you are registered as interested in
ordering the next batch of AmigaOne X1000.

In the next few weeks, we will contact registered customers offering the
chance of placing a firm order which will require a deposit of GBP
Sterling £425, deductible from the final cost which will be payable in
GBP Sterling shortly before the system ships to you."

I haven`t applied for the bach, but asked AmiKit just info will the prepayement and waiting be needed in the future also, and how much is it ... and got no reply at all.

Trevor told me what I needed, its a bit dissapointing, lack of any info, especially to those who actually preordered.

Same here. Amigakit has always been very good fulfilling my orders in the past, I've never had a single complaint about their prices or service.

But apparently on the X1000 they are not returning all (any?) emails. I also have a couple out to them but have not had a reply.

I understand that we have to pay a huge premium on a small-scale built hobby computer, and that they'll be a delay in getting it even after an order is placed...but the lack of communication on the process seems very unusual for any company I deal with, especially one I've had a good history with.

I hope this changes very soon, can't imagine Trevor thinking this approach is the best.

Yes, its damaging AmigaKIts great reputation.

OK if there is any delay in production / shipping, life is for living,
but decent information would be enough ...

Hello

Sorry about the lack of contact. We updated the website on 31st July. We will be updated it again shortly.

We are concentrating at the moment on customers who were on the first list and narrowly missed out on obtaining an X1000 system at the time. We will then progress then to later requests.
