@Johan

May as well run the latest/greatest version if it's free, I figure: WW7 info

It's works very well. But you do need the ugrade patch from aminet IIRC (to 7.01 or amI getting my 68k sofwtare confused?)

I've used WW7 for about ten years, it's still fullfills my DTP needs.

For full quality output you need to print to postscript and use EPS images.

You can use ImageFX to convert any image into postscript. I usuall make two versions an ilbm for layout then replace that with an EPS image (preview dosn't work with colour so this helps you see what your doing).

Try the link I sent you, that's the official commercial release.

No way is that true, as on one of the disk images is:

Quote:

.---------------------||----------------------------------------------.
| title || WORDWORTH 7 (beta) |
`---------------------||----------------------------------------------'
| softwarecompany || DIGITA INTERNATIONAL |
`---------------------||----------------------------------------------'
| supplied by || FAITH`98 |
`---------------------||----------------------------------------------'
| pseudo registration || FAITH`98 |
`---------------------||----------------------------------------------'
:|
.

It would be nice if Digita could officially allow permission for WW7 to be distributed, and then somebody could provide a proper archive, rather than a dodgy cracked beta.

I'd advise against using this. It probably accounts for the DSIs being seen, and the Aminet patch is almost certainly not going to work.

False. The DSI issues are with the Amiga Format custom coverdisc version, the ADF (albeit cracked version) is the full, official commercial release. it has no DSIs and runs flawlessly with OS4 and MorphOs. aminet patch works flawlessly.

Source: Using it for 5 years on both platforms.

@1Mouse

Best using the OS4 installer. What I have done is put the Installer into my Dock. That way you can just drag an install icon into it and not mess around. Usallu you need to give I nstaller an icon first..

You shouldn't get DSI's. Not normally. I used run WW6 and then upgraded to WW7. I have got some crashes, usually WW upseting the input.device, but these are quite rare.

Make sure it is installed as intended to the destination it will be in. Avoid messy hacks or workarounds as this will mess it up. The most problem I have is WW not finding its fonts. So you may need to run the font tools from the WwTools directory.

@Hypex

I get two predictable crashes with WW7

1. An ignorable DSI when you create a text frame, then having activated it for typing, move the mouse pointer outside it.

2. A more serious crash whrn using EPS images, this crashj only happens when loading the files from the recent list, so is easily avoided.

Otherwise it's pretty stable.

Would love to get hold of the source!
