nice idea but either you can offer a lot of money for the support and port or you can show them that they must support AOS or they loose a big chance and I think that will be difficult to proof. |

This person apply for a job as a PC/Mac-coder at Spotify doing NORMAL work. Lets say 99% PC/MAC work. But when this person who is also a AmigaOS4 coder gets the chance to do other work during paid working hours AND on this persons free time it can do some coding on the installed Sam460. |
you demand a high sacrifice, people to adjust their professional life to the hobby, rather than the usual other way around. i doubt that kind of shift in priorities works in real life, but good luck.
what i also consider doubtful is that a company is automatically going to accept you on your own adopting their work in your free time to goals that might interfere with their strategy. we have had a good example here, cod3r, who was successful to run aros68k on the hardware he works professionally with, but not allowed by his company neither to demonstrate it publicly let alone distribute it.

Skuggan doesn't demand a single thing. He merely proposes an alternative idea, which is in no way impossible. I could imagine myself working for Spotify, if I currently didn't have a job I was more than pleased with. I could really see myself working 8 h a day on PC/Mac code (which is what I do today) and staying at work working with Amiga for one or two hours (instead of sitting at home). At least in Sweden many large companies, in order to hire great developers allow some time with "own projects". Even if the project itself doesn't gain the company, the experience in programming and thinking does gain the programmer, and thus indirectly the company. All companies aren't like this, but the ones worth working for are. _________________

In other words you exactly do not fall into the category. Because those wo might hire at spotify are usually employed otherwise and unemployed will hardly be hired just for the sake of amiga. |

Seriously. What kind of workingplaces are you use to?
Spotify gain users from this. During previous "hack time" which is paid working time to do whatever spotify implementation you wish, employees have done spotify players for different hardware, such as Boxee and Logitecs squeeze box.
We only need to convince "our" guys we have now to spend more time with the Sam460. Better of get more guys in there who need a job anyway.
Spotify doesn't care if you have a formal education or a current job as long as you can code and are willing to do a great job at spotify. They want positiv and creative co workers.
I use to work with some of these guys back when I did mobile entertainment for Spray.
I have no special education. My only experience was 68K assembler and some java and as a sidejob being a back hoe operator. I refused to take the job since that would have meant I had to move to stockholm so they let me start my own developer office in a town nearby where I live. I called a couple of Amiga coders up who had "normal" jobs and we start coding and had a great time.
Spotify reminds me a lot of Spray. In order to get the best co workers they look for talented people with the right attitude.
Life is only hard if you choose to see it as hard. Lighten up and have a positive attitude and everything will be good.
@nutsAboutAmiga: See if they have an available job in norway. I do know they have some positions in Gothenburg.

| Just got a reply from Spotify. They haven't got too much time over to hack for the Amiga due to work over load but things are progressing.
They said some more good things but I can't talk about it here.
Just wanted to let you know that they are alive and still working on it.
And as a reminder. If you are a unemployeed Amiga coder near any of their office please apply for a job there at http://www.spotify.com/se/jobs/ They need more people. :)

| @Chris_Y I guess it takes a lot of power from the browser but it might work with TW.
To ease up porting to new platforms they have developed a new simple platform and they will build the Amiga version on that.
