I m running Sam460 in PCI-e 1x + SATA 2. I dont have anything in my pci-e 1x slot

I get no sound at all, and AAmp doesnt play mp3's, that is, it stays on 0 secs....

I had that before, but dont remember what I did to get it working again...

Sound is better now, no crackling sounds but still need a warm re-boot before I get sound!

Other april joke, the sound driver for Sam460 is this:
sm502_audio.lha 6.1 16kb 15 Aug 11 OS4 SAM460 (SM502) audio driver.

Tried the new driver and it still doesn't show up in AHI-prefs. I guess hardware failure. I have tried all kinds of settings. SB live works so I am happy anyway.

Try to cold reboot your SAM460 or to warm reboot.

That is very odd, if you want to confirm what is going on, you could try to obtain a serial port log from the SAM460. If you are able, send this to me at rossv@potduck.com and I will confirm to you what the driver sees.

Did you get the SM502 audio working? My audio was working under the old driver, but stopped when I installed the new driver (yes, from the "uploads" section of OS4depot. It is the new driver). I checked AHI prefs against the readme file. I soft rebooted many times. I cold booted. I soft booted again... and again. The only thing I found different was the executable flags were not set (I extracted them to a JXFS partition); however, I rechecked the executable flags. I still have no sound after many soft reboots.

Ross, how do I send you a serial capture? Is it the same procedure as on the old A1XE?

Thank you K-L. I'll do that after work. Maybe one day JXFS will be updated... along with being made bootable? For now, updated SM502 and Timberwolf are sufficient for me.

i had the same problem with the new driver.
i was using a envy soundcard before and i had to delete all the other drivers (sound) from devs ahi and audiomodes .

then did a reboot and voilla there it was.

setting up the sound following the read me and it works.

only locks up my amigaone500 at cold boot at the boot logo screen after a warm boot it boots normally.

think its something with addaudiomodes .

You have probably downloaded from OS4 driver/audio

That is same old one.

New one is still in uploads limbo
