Posted a short video taken with my iPhone of me playing around on my X1000.

Nothing special but just launching a few apps tinkering showing you it is fast user experience.

What I want to see is how it tackles things like emulation and high quality video playback, but sadly no one seems to want to share a clip of how it performs with those tasks.

There was one video with 720p video playback (I will try to find link). Video of DosBox with some nice game (Daggerfall, Master of Magic or even Dungeon Keeper) could show strengh of X1000, any brave X1000 owner around here?

Note: DosBox seems to be faster with fixed CPU cycles settings than with CPU cycles=max.

@pavlor

Will be cool to see video which contain:

-- dosbox showing some heavy (i mean heavy really) games and win95
-- e-uae shown some heavy 060/aga based demos/games
-- many videos played at one time with high enough resolution

With facts, numbers and honest truth. That will be interesting to see and to know.

I don´t know if DosBox for OS4 is compatible enough for Windows 95 (most games/applications don´t work with simple/normal CPU core; there is no dynamic core for PowerPC). I was told that X1000 can reach 20000 CPU cycles (486DX/2 performance) - that would be enough for games I mentioned (Dungeon Keeper for DOS needs probably a little bit more CPU power), certainly not for something newer than 1996/1997.

No way without JIT.

I don´t think X1000/OS4 can do more than one 720p video (with current drivers - no overlay etc.). Complete drivers and support for multiple cores could change that (in few years...).

@amigasociety

Definitely good, shows an excellent response time.

Good to know how different AmiCygnix is from the normal desktop.

Multiple-Screens still being available is one of the features bringing me back to AmigaOS...

Can't wait to get hold of my own AOS4 machine...hope it is responsive once I start getting into things in a similar way to my original A4000 and A3000 machines of some years ago.

I also subscribed to your channel on youtube... definitely worth keeping note of the videos you put up

My Chrome alike advert for X1000.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72NnVPLMZn4

The ending because you cant actually see the text I wrote I was just trying to say I was running Sketchup, Cinnamon Writer on AmigaOS and in the background AmiCygin was running Abiword and Gimp all at the same time. two graphics programs and two text programs.

So far I have to say I haven't really had enough time to fully setup my system the way I want it, I want to install AmigaOS3.9 on it but not to sure how to go about it (in UAE) been spoilt by amiga forever to long and its nice GUI, plus Dosbox didn't work for me my first go at trying it, but again I've not really looked into solutions. i did complete Space Quest 5 on it. :) without one hickup! :) ScummVM port is very good!

plus currently learning a bit of Hollywood and Hollywood Designer, I also have Dune2 up and running and just notice that Star Control 2 port has been updated so I guest thats going to be taken up alot of my Amiga time.

oh we know you cannot post any bench :), but this request is for free limited edition users, they surely not signed any NDA with A-Eon :)

If no win95 or better games like even red alert, or like hmm3 , then its not very intersting .. But if i remember right, i see some dosbox with win95 on it, and if i remember right it was on aros firrstly, and lately someone do it on os4 as well. But can be wrong.

I know it will be slower in compare with how it can be with JIT, but still its interesting to know and to see , how it will looks like, if you for example run some latest TBL demo. Sure it will be slow, but interesting to see how slow it will be exactly.

I don't think so as well, but in interest to see how everything will works and reacts, when you will stress x1000/os4 with many 720 video running at time. Sure, they will slow, but its interesting to see how exactly slow, what will happens , etc.

I.e. classic good videos, which show a lot of stuff at one time, heavy stuff, stress it a lot, so ppls will see when slownes starts, how it reacts when slowness starts, how it looks like in such situations and so on.

Linux in general only interesting for benchmarks , so we can see if it the same by speed as os4, or slower, or os4 slower (so if os4 slower in benchmakrs, it will point out that there is room for optimisation in os4, but if linux will be slower, then hw itself).

Sadly that non-nda x1000 users fear benchmarks. They anyway enjoy their x1000, so no point to fear if it will be slower in some parts. At least we will know the truth , and developers will know what areas can be optimised.
