That would be really good. Maybe a way to configure Jack so you can add/remove programs? I just want to use some of the programs Jack is offering. Maybe an option to hide them or smtg?_________________ AmigaOS on Google+ AmigaOS on Facebook |

I wanted to create one square corner and other rounded corners - but don't know where to go or what to change. Would be nice to have "realtime preview" [as in Photoshop] ;) but I dream on.

Did you stufy files such as Sys:Prefs/Presets/Default/Common/Bitmaps/CurvyConfig?
Particularly this section
BarPre = 0 9 /* Left end of titlebar if no gadgets follow */ BarPreGadget = 0 9 /* Left end of titlebar if some gadgets follow */ BarLGadgetFill = 11 80 /* Tileable background for left-side gadgets */ BarJoinGB = 11 14 /* Join between gadgets and left part of dragbar */ BarLFill = 11 80 /* Tileable background for left part of dragbar */ BarJoinBT = 0 0 /* Join between left part of dragbar and title */ BarTitleFill = 11 80 /* Tileable background for title */ BarJoinTB = 0 0 /* Join between title and right part of dragbar */ BarRFill = 11 80 /* Tileable background for right part of dragbar */ BarJoinBG = 0 0 /* Join between right part of dragbar and gadgets */ BarRGadgetFill = 11 80 /* Tileable background for right-side gadgets */ BarPostGadget = 125 9 /* Right end of titlebar if some gadgets precede */ BarPost = 125 9 /* Right end of titlebar if no gadgets precede */
and this section:
/* ========== Settings for window titlebar height 40 ========== */
BarHeight = 31 /* Height of titlebar */
BarLayout = Vertical /* Horizontal (default) or Vertical */ BarEdges = No /* Draw bright/dark/flat edges around titlebar? */ BarRounded = No /* Titlebar corners should be rounded? */ BarMasking = No /* Picture mask defines titlebar shape? */ BarBlending = Yes /* Picture alpha channel defines titlebar shape? */ BarNarrow = No /* Have a BeOS/Zeta style narrow titlebar? */
Quote:
I forgot to answer about round corners - well the problem is - I couldn`t find a way to round ALL corners - just top [left and right] side.

You can only round the top right and top left corners of standard windows, at least as far as I understand it. What you are really rounding is the drag bar area. You can't change the shape of the content area of a window, excpet on a per application basis, as you can't know what the content is.

It might be possible to round the corners if the borders are made thick enough to contain the radius - at least, that's how it's done in Windows Vista / 7. The limitation might be however that I don't think it's possible to apply a bitmap anchored at the bottom corners, and therefore no way of applying the alpha channel where it'd be needed... Might be worth looking into though. _________________ http://www.robthenerd.com |

I'm talking within the context of AmigaOS4.
You can make a window any weird shape on a per application basis, nobody has really pushed the envelope on that, except maybe the tunenet experimental skin.

Ohh thank you for the tips. I would never found that settings. Will investigate futher.
Well I have seen how system looks after my skin is applied. Still lots of work to do. I will get help from Walkero, he will help me build installation script so skins should be available to everybody with different resolutions. _________________ dj | my.www | my.deviantart | my.youtube | gfxriver |

Not true I did, whit Excalibur, you can round all corner of the menus but not on the toolbar (not yet implemented), you can also have logos hanging on the side of Excalibur menus.
Oh and if anyone should be interested in trying it there seems to be problem in install script where Excalibur is copied to sys:wbstartup, but instead of starting sys:wbstartup/Excalibur, "sys:wbstartup" is added to wbstartup prefs.
Will be fixed in next version, also installation script will be improved as well as the prefs, there will also be menu editor in next version, I have depended on the users having to edit text files manually too long, and I’m trying make it easier for every one using my application.

So it's definitely not possible to fix bitmaps to the bottom edge on OS4 then? I was also talking about OS4, but wasn't 100% sure of the possibilities. Oh well, was just a thought... _________________ http://www.robthenerd.com |

I posted my basic questions to Hyperion page, lets see what they will answer.
If I will be able to create MorphOS - like theme [where in window is: image, then separator image, then image loop that spreads all over the window on top, separator again and 2 icons at the top right [minimize and move window to back/forth] - I will be able to do anything. _________________ dj | my.www | my.deviantart | my.youtube | gfxriver |

still no reply or help from anybody from Hyperion site... I guess they are all on vacation or something.
Anyway, this web site [thanks to Vox]:
http://korni.ovh.org/morphos-skins/?i=TSteel.png
has excellent showcase - what I intend to learn and create a skin for AmigaOS4.1+
At the end, I will draw in Photoshop what I want to create. It is much easier than to use GUI prefs for now... Then I will ask for help how to cut images and where to upload its parts.
Thank you

How does a picture of a morphos themes help you design one for AmigaOS ?
The mechism will be completely different! You might as well study a windows theme....

There are a number of themes on os4depot that you might use to understand how to build a theme. this batch has arange of design include shaped dragbars etc...

It helps in visual way - top of the windows is done the way I will be creating [not simple adding background with round corners / replacing existing graphics]. Also, not in design way, just as example what I intend to do - top left of the window = image. Then goes separator image. Then classical continuous [looping] image, then again separator image and 2 [or 3] end images at the top right of each window.
If I will be able to create this way - I can create anything - from transparent backgrounds to much better skins.
Currently I know only how to change window backgrounds and gadgets, not other things. _________________ dj | my.www | my.deviantart | my.youtube | gfxriver |

Thats better than I imagined...
SOmehow the doumentation of OS 4 has to be better.
@djnick: after you finished the theme, you could write some articles about that in the OS 4 wiki...
