| I saw that there was an update to the Envy24HT driver via AmiUpdate and the information said that it now supports the Via VT1618 codec. This is the codec used in the lower end Envy sound cards that can be had in PCI Express form factor for around US$20. This is a nice alternative to the onboard SM502 sound. Even though that problem has been identified, the onboard sound does not have line level input support for recording audio.
Here is a link to the exact card that I am using in the picture.
I have attached images of the card inserted and playing on the Sam under OS4.1 Update 6:

| It looks like ACube systems is selling the same card. I didn't see this news item on their site. I would recommend buying the card from their site to support them and the work they do to support our community. |

Awesome! I did miss these but glad to see it happen. I am glad to see the support for the Envy24-DT chips and VT1618. We have come a long way in half a year in PCIe card compatibility!
I actually ended up finally getting a Juli@ XTe card, but in light of this new driver I don't regret having it after hearing it through headphones! Pure bliss! |

great news! can you please confirm if Mixer works for you as my M-Audio revolution 5.1 card with the Envy driver does not work with Mixer for some reason? _________________ ____________________________ c64-2sids, A1000, A1200T-060@50(finally working!),A4000-CSMKIII ! I noticed when Acube added their Audio card section in their online store before they listed the card and was keepeing an eye on that section so I was able to order one as soon as they were listed. Also orders a PCI model from another source to try on my Sam440ep-flex.

The mixer does not work with mine either. I don't think the mixer has support for the Envy series cards. |

As there is no hardware mixer in the Envy24HT/DT chipsets, Mixer doesn't detect/support them.
Mixer doesn't use AHI, it directly accesses and modifies the registers on the cards so in the case of the Envy24HT/DT, all it could be used for is to mute the inputs/outputs. Probably not worth the effort unless there is enough demand for it.

Overall, it is a great news. Affrodable 7.1 sound and ability to use PCI-E x1 slot and NOT using valuable PCI slots for sound. It should become standard for AmigaOne 500 and SAM 460 systems overriding onboard audio _________________ Future Acube and MOS supporter, fi di good, nothing fi di unprofessionals. It is all about individual user choice. Some may want to use the pciex1 slot for usb 3.0 or something else in the future.

Surely, as choices (drivers) grow, but currently its the only use of PCI-E x1 slot I do know._________________ Future Acube and MOS supporter, fi di good, nothing fi di unprofessionals. Learn it harder way! |

Would agree if I didn't have mixer working great with the exact same card in my old Samflex over a year ago. Enjoyed adjusting the volume with mixer while switching between different applications etc. _________________ ____________________________ c64-2sids, A1000, A1200T-060@50(finally working!),A4000-CSMKIII ! You're right, my statement was partly wrong, the Envy24HT/DT chipset itself doesn't have a hw mixer so the Julia and PhaseXX cards can't be controlled but if the card has an AK or AC97 codec like the Aureon and M-Audio Revolution 5.1 cards then Mixer can control it.
Assuming the Syba card uses an AC97 codec chances are it's like the Aureon but if it doesn't show up in Mixer then to add support for it what I need to know is the subsystem vendor and ID which isn't displayed by Ranger but can be obtained with this command:
pciscan 0x1412 0x1724 detail
[edit] re-read you earlier post and realized that it's your M-Audio Revolution card which didn't show in Mixer. So if you can get me the subsystem vendor and ID for it, I should be able to add it to Mixer if somehow it differs from the other M-Audio cards. This is the SIIG pci model. http://www.siig.com/it-products/multimedia/sound/pci/soundwave-5-1-pci-lp.html Cant get any output from it but one day maybe. The Ranger and pciscan info is so close to the pciex1 card.
