Thanks.

So we have a total of 31 sets (25 for the Evo cases and 6 for standalone keyboards - 4 going to amigaworld.net users and 2 to amiga.org).

With this in mind I'm off to try and get a discount.

Thanks again.

@TheDaddy

as I mentioned in my PMail to you, can you instead of producing entire key cap sets that replace every key on the keyboard, just produce the 4 (or 5, or 6) key caps that are changed for the Amiga-Like keyboards (the two "A" key caps, the Boing Ball key cap, and the "ScrL/Help" key cap)?

That should be much cheaper than producing entire key cap sets, which for the most part are exact duplicates of 90%+ of the original key caps included with the purchase of each keyboard.

This is not a criticism, just a question from an observation. I really appreciate all of your work on this project.

Hi,

Have a good look at the photos, and just let me know which keys you're looking for and email them to me. I'll see what I can do.

The only advisory is the font and its size are going to be different from the font used on your mechanical keyboard so keep that in mind. Also the numeric pad is reproduced as on an Amiga keyboard (check the Enter and Sys Rq, Prt Sc etc...). The arrow on the Return key, the TAB, the Shifts etc...

But sure, email me the keys your require and the colour.

@kyle

I've made language layouts for the following languages:

Italian
American (big Return key - ISO)
American (thin Return key - ANSI)
Danish
French
German
Greek/American
Russian
Serbian-Latin
Spanish
Swedish/Finnish
U.K. (this is the base one)

Some are dual language and some are not.

I'm going to order the 16-17 required for the X500 Evo cases later today plus 5-6 for standalone keyboards and let you know the price I can get (for standalone orders).

Everyone,

The first Evo standalone USB keyboard with custom made laser etched (white on black) keys has gone out.

This is Vox's and he is going to use it with his AmigaOne X1000.
It's on his way to Serbia, hence my full set of custom made Amiga keys in Serbia-Latin language layout. Vox went for the complete package (Ducky Zero mechanical keyboard with Blue Cherry switches and custom made keys).

Some photos:

Thanks.

@TheDaddy

Do you have the price worked out yet for a complete set of replacement keys, if I buy my own mechanical keyboard locally, or through an online store and have it sent to me?

I have decided that only replacing a few of the keys, instead of all of them, will not be the most pleasing look if the fonts don't match, so you have talked me into a complete replacement set of key caps.

Congrats again on the success of your Kickstarter project and I look forward to reading some reviews of the complete systems when people start building with your custom case.

Lastly, will you be able to build any additional cases in the future for people interested in buying one of them, but did not participate in the original Kickstater commitment? I doubt I will have the money to buy one, due to my medical expenses and also trying to help my Son with college tuition, but you never know, I might win the lottery!

It would be nice to put my FPGA Replay Arcade motherboard into your case some day, if I can afford one.

Ah my keyboard is done
Thanks!

Without any worries, this mine set can be sold in Bosnia; Croatia; Slovenia, just labeled "Bosnian", "Croatian","Slovenian" - it covers the needed Alphabet.

Cherry keyboard will make clickety writting in social sciencies
a bit less boring.

I just wonder why left and right Amiga key (A500 style symbol)
and third boing bag next to it

Surely I could map that to Puff hard reset

I think that is the best way. You need to identify which keyboard first. The one used in the X500 Evo is the Ducky Zero DK2108 and that is the one Vox asked me to get him (with Cherry Blue switches). Other keyboards might be compatible but I haven't tested them.Then just let me know your language layout. Of course the full set is more expensive. Usually mechanical keyboards have black keys and this mean you should be able to get away with the set already present on the keyboard and just replace the keys you require to make it more Amiga. but as you say:

"I have decided that only replacing a few of the keys, instead of all of them, will not be the most pleasing look if the fonts don't match, so you have talked me into a complete replacement set of key caps."

The font is slightly different in size from for example the Ducky Zero.

I am only producing and building a total of 50 cases (25x X500 Plus and 25x X500 Evo) so I can't guarantee I'll be making more as they are expensive to make, I make no money on them (actually the opposite, this is a labour of love) and are time consuming to put together. So there should be some of the Plus and Evo left after the kickstarter boys and girls get theirs so again first come first served.

Thank you.

No problem, the keyboard arrived on Friday and the keys on Saturday. I removed the original keys and put the new ones on. The Serbian-Latin layout didn't take too long to do...I hope you'll have lots of fun with it. I'll send it tomorrow.

Consider the Boing Ball a bonus key. On the Ducky it's the Fn (Function key). You can map it to whatever you like.

The following keyboards should be compatible with the keys:

Filco, Ducky, Das Keyboard and some others but again I've only tested them on the Ducky Zero.

In past it would be "Yugoslav" (YU) keyboard, but now with new small countries, you have covered few small countries. Add it to the list - Voodo and Kicko might be interested too in "Croatian" model and DJ Nick in Serbian (which is the same)

Wow, Cherry and 4 Amiga keys, that puts original AmigaOne keyboard as spare part reserve

And finally the keyboards with the Cherry MX Brown switches have arrived:

And, I have to say, they are really nice, with a good tactile feedback. Ideal for typing and gaming.

@TheDaddy

I want to order a set of the keys and I will find a compatible mechanical keyboard to put them on later.

Can I send you a PayPal payment for the keys? Where are you located? I am leaving to go to France tomorrow, so if you are located in Europe, maybe I can meet you and pick up the key caps in person and thank you for all of your work on this project.

Regards,
David
