Are you sure that's what it is? Honestly I'm lost, but this is what I read on their site:

not currently, no. i'm just taking roberto at his word, that his distro will be ported over to power hardware. that's not terribly relevant to amigans, but i have a particular interest in power systems. so i thought i'd be welcoming.

Quote:
So can we all just start using the name and logos now then? Or is this guy special and Amigaworld is going to grant him "God" status for some strange reason?

i shouldn't think so, no. and i don't see where he's suggesting to be treated as such. i have no idea why he's interested in grabbing the amiga trademark for his linux distro, and i don't see how it has anything to do with the amiga platform. and if it were up to me, i'd ask him to reconsider.

but regardless of whether or not he renames his offerings 'amiga' or not, it's one more distro available for power systems, and i just think that's a good thing. the 'amiga' name attached to it, no, i don't, but i'm not a lawyer and i don't control the mark. if amiga, inc., doesn't mind and hyperion don't object, then i don't see why we should. on the other hand, if they do....

Or you could try thinking for yourself and forming your own opinions.

@thread

Quite some hours ago the logo changed again to blue.
I'm not sure anyone mentioned that.

Hmmm...

Keep telling yourself this topic isn't drawing attention.
Just keep saying it over and over...Heh.

Noticed they are an Acer partner.

Maybe the janitor found the ownership docs for the IP when cleaning the basement and they no longer need A. inc or Hyperion. :D

@number6

Hmm, maybe an outside business is a good solution
to bring the different Amiga party's more together?

It would at least enlarge the number of Amiga(ish) users in one place.

@Dirk-B

I think everyone is aware they need to move "outside" in some way in order to survive.

@terminills

Hehe, well there are more then 12 users in our amigaclub you know.

Btw, with bringing together i mean every Amiga(ish) system, so
the biggest part is included ofcourse. They must find solutions
to link them all together.

PS: i like my Classics.

How many times do I have to tell you...it's not accurate if you include Gateway supporters in the grand total.

Really? 2 ARs? Try 21 here.
If I see 0 AR's on Amigaworld that to me is usually a sign that some has
been doing a little to much, as you say, kissing of the butt

Some are just more mature then others & I've noticed that you have been since returning, no new ARs. I wouldn't be to proud of your past skills.

@sundown

number6 is certainly not more true in every topic because he did more posts and less number of complaints. I personal do normally not complain even if I think a comment is (or can be seen) as insulting. There are others (from one certain camp) that are more active in that sense. And f.e. I am very busy in my free time (like many others) so I do not have that much time to post (only now and then). Seeing the numbers as evidence for credibility and activity is really nonsense (what not means that I want to say something negativ against number6 or anyone else), it is just a reply to your posting.
