I can`t believe that people who should develop for Amiga seems they don`t care. Buying X1000 and being a Serbian in those terrible hard times is even harder and to my knowledge - it is extremly hard to buy it [with insane taxes and prices] and extremly low monthly payment [~350 eur is monthly salary here!] so you can imagine how hard and brave decision is to buy it... And then - receive nothing for it. He still can`t play Youtube smoothly, so I can go and record what X1000 can do.

Oh please X1000 developers - please continue work! I am still waiting for gfx drivers that are the most important part of computer. Who do I need Sam if I can`t use internet properly? Youtube player is very very important thing to implement...

Why Skinning and make system look great when it does not work basic stuff? I can imagine how Vox feels... He feels betrayed and seems like nobody that he gave fortune of the money seems to care... :( Damn!!!

@vox

Okay so what's your deal man? What's ticked you off? Lots of people use the X1000 as a main machine and am happy with it so what is preventing your X1000 from being the same?

Also you talk about Hyperion support or lack thereof but I have no idea what you are talking about. I'm not going to read 100 of your posts to find out. Post some links.

@AP

For free only motherboard but paid additional 450 euros for the rest [case, hds and stuff]... So not really free. And still can`t use it for Youtube...

@djnick

Seriously, noone forces anyone to buy a computer. The development pace is not a state secret.
Someone buying a computer doesnt make the Magical Driver faeries appear.

"please continue work!" you ask. Didnt MUI 4 just get released? Regardless, Hyperion doesnt have
legions of developers like Microsoft or Apple.
How this can be suprising info at this point is beyond me.

Really ? no YouTube ?

Did you try SMTube-MPlayer as somebody said to you weeks ago in a similar thread ?

Me, on my X1000 with RadeonHD GFX, I use it everyday.

And you know what ?
I'm very happy with it, x1000 under OS4 is my main computer.

And nevermind the average salary in France, it's the same computer than Vox.

Vox : did you try to stop gandja, you will save money and maybe recover your judgement ?
(buy a 3000€ hobby computer with a 300€ month salary...)

@djnick:

BTW: I live in Austria, where the financial situation is better then in your home-country, but I am not rich, too. In the time, the X1000 came out, I was really interested, but as my budget was (and is) limited I had to think about all pro and cons and in the end I made the hard decision, that it´s too much money for a hobby/geek-system in my personal situation. So I used a SAMflex-system for some time and saved money for buying a X1000 in the future. In the end I joined the Cyrus+-betatestprogramm a few weeks ago. It was the right time and the right moment for the investment.

What I want to say: When you haven´t the money left, you should always be careful with any financial decision, especially the investment is high and just for your hobby. Nobody is forced to buy an X1000, even with AOS4 there are cheaper alternatives (used and new).

Also, you can´t expect from an niche-OS with very limited resources (manpower/money) that development is as fast as it is on mainstream-OSes. If you are not prepared to ticker around and live with some limitations, a "geeky" niche-OS (be it Haiku, AROS, MorphOS or AOS4) isn´t the right choice for you (and vox) anyway.

BTW2: There is a QT-youtubeplayer for AmigaOS4, which you can try and use in the meantime for youtube-videos.

@djnick

Well AFAIK as I know the Sam wasn't designed to create YouTube videos so no surprise there. But you can view them. Not easily and it is messy but it works. Most of the time. Strangely relying on a concoction of 68K and PPC software. You'd think there would have been one native program to do it..

Apparently, Itix' account has been hacked. I suspect MikeyC or Hondo.

Some admin or moderator should look into that.

i think ssolie or amigakit write that if vox wants to return his x1000, he can but he will get no money and has to pay 1000 euro 'restocking fee'

@cheesegrate

haha.

so vox will have to sell it on the open market like a grown up and take responsibility.
Not so bad, as he will most probably get what he paid for it.

@vox
we all have made bad desisions. doug from amigaanywere took my money $2000 loaned dollars for payment for an a1xe, and i never saw the xe. i spent many phonecalls to get back $1000 of it.I had my subtle warnings but i didnt care.I was stupid giving a rouge my cash.I will be more prudent in the future.you're blessed you got your machine and no one from a postal company stole it.

@AP

They can have a real court case according to EU UK laws.

Now, I don`t want Cyrus, pure refund, even without tax.

I am entitled to it by manual. Thanks.

P.S.
They don`t even contact I on it.

In january I will send it by some smart post office on their charge,
and wait for money. If it doesn`t come february, I am sure
I have stronger court case.

Yes, I know what do I want, normal support and normal OS for it.

X1000 OS4 Beta don`t make it and Steven is almost ....

@itix

I don`t need MacOS, I can run better Mint or Fedora on x64,
Peg2 is unavail, SAM 460 is best AROS PPC/AmigaOS/MOS option.

@QuikSanz

I expected way more from AmigaKit (can I copy paste support tickets to get you a clear pic or email from Steven?)

I complained to Trevor and he has done NOTHING in Months.

I understand everything and support it if you show respect for my blood and sweat.

Thus Acube, MOS and minimal support to Hyperion, OK?

Surely would donate to TW4+, LibreOffice port for OS4, MOS and AROS.

But its not open ....

Why NOT having a decent browser and free Office?

I need it for job, not just for fun.

Quote:
I am afraid that Amigakit or A-EON are not legally bound to give vox a refund after all the time.

Surely you have X1000 quickstart guide and have fully read it.

Also you don`t walk my shoes there must be reason in them why I have turned
from super supporter to someone who wnats to sue them. I can present my case here if it will NOT be censored.

What do you wish to know?

@Fairdinkem

Better CPU is not everything. I want all money back (I ll manage debt)
and new and supported hardware, better supported by AmigaOS
and with native AROS and MorphOS, and guess what it is.
