Exactly. Picasso IV driver in OS4 is 68k and runs blacklisted from Petunia (so interpretive emulation).

I've tried it with Petunia as well (didn't have any problems, makes me wonder why it's blacklisted in the first place) but I didn't detect any difference in speed - though I didn't try anything else that Quake...

Not good benchmark (FPU is emulated by soft-floats... sloooooooooow).

Thanks for info. Will try turn on Petunia for 68k driver.

Doom Benchmark (with ADoom 1.3 WOS; Core i5-2500K 3.3 GHz; emulated Picasso IV):

without JIT - 781 realtics = 95.63 FPS
with JIT - 494 realtics 151.19 FPS

There is visible speed improvement.

In comparison is better the emulation from PPC to X86 compared the X86 to PPC :P

VPC on G5 quad Aros X86 2134 gametics in 215 realtics 347 fps ;)

Ok, I stand corrected...it seems the QEMU's poor FPU-performance is the limiting factor in this case (like you wrote above).

You may use IDE - slower, but could work.

Search on EAB in the Zone. Blizzard603e emulation is surprisingly slow.

@pavlor

I just tested on macosx and i understand in general the 1200 model emulation
is much much slow compared the A4000.... probably something is not emulated right .
I just emulated the A1200 with 1260 and is slooow 8mips vs 20 of a4000,
FSuae isnt jit on PowerMac and 68k emulation is worst compared Almos port.

@tlosm

PowerPC emulation by qemu is not fast, at the moment.
i tried AmigaOS4 on WinUAE on 3,1 Ghz dual core and it's quite usable, but not for daily use.

Interesting that PowerPC emulation via sheepshaver is very fast, but you know it

@Seiya

Sheepshaver have a better cpu emulation but without MMU
checking the sources of qemu.uae look like it support the kvm...
if one day i will able to run it on my quad probably i will have amigaos 4.1 on g5 as native :P
