@amigakit

Now all we need is a package manager and an Amiga software package format.

it seems a raytracer from command line such as shell, cli.
It could be an OS4 version from original version for Amiga OS3

Doing some guessing just in case RADIANCE is an acronym for something unrelated to art packages...

I would bet that it is an AmigaOS4.x port of the Radiance Unix 3D/Raytracing program mentioned in those 1991 mailing list posts.

A-Eon & AmigaKit are concentrating on getting more software released for use on their hardware to boost sales after all. Just makes sense to me, compared to some of the more far fetched suggestions.

My bet Warp3D for RadeonHD drivers with Pixel and Vertex Shaders.

doubt it, AmigaONEs are too slow for serious raytracing and there is no support for hardware 3D acceleration - even if Gallium3D is finished, it's much slower than official drivers.
I think it's probably something else, though it may be graphics related

Is it not a tad outdated by now though?? Why port something so old?

Gallium3D for RadeonHD cards is in most cases (games) 50-80 % as fast as AMD Catalyst (best performance offer Radeon HD5000/6000 Gallium3D drivers). Benchmarks on Phoronix site show great increases of Gallium3D performance in last 2 years.

YOU'RE ALL WRONG

RADIANCE! is a new software washing powder... It stops your colours from fading and makes your white pixels even whiter!!!

That looks like Tony W's A1XE in the background. Ask Tony.

I don´t know.

However, Gallium3D is now in better state than even few years ago.

@Severin

Wasn't really thinking of any loonie OS specifically, just that if there a s professional store set up then there will need to be professional Amiga software that works out of the box. Kind of what we had already in the beginning when we bought real physical software.

@old thread

Could Radiance be something like AmigaVision? I read that it is supposed to be a multimedia application.

Yes - it could be. If you look at the Radiance screen shot it is made up of icons of some of the other apps - MPlayer, SketchBlock fractal plugin and Workbench Candy.

Won't have long to wait though!
