Yes DVPlayer will be a new version on AMIStore.

We will start off with a small selection of available apps but we are working now to grow the software base available on AMIStore in the months after launch.

Please bear in mind that we are developing the software distribution platform and infratructure (the whole AMIStore project) and not the actual content of apps that appear on the AMIStore. This will be done by individual third party developers and will materialise after the launch of AMIStore gradually as they finish their development process.

One other dilemma that we have is feature creep: there are so many more ideas we plan to add but not enough time so we will release a initial stable version in September and through the Live Update feature, the additional features will be added.

Indeed we are, we are working hard to get all the loose ends tied up this month.

You are right about that, the problem is that I have so many ideas to incorporate and the more I put into it, the longer it will take to get to an initial release. Feature creep is an issue and when AMIStore is launched, I am sure there will be requests from Amiga users to add more features.

It is decided to get a stable standard version of the app store out this month and slowly enable the extra functionality as the beta test team check off each part.

The main emphasis is to provide a stable platform for new and existing developers to be able to easily sell and distribute their software.

Getting close now.

Due to the temptations of feature creep, and in the interests of getting AMIStore out to the public, we have kept back a lot of the extra features for later releases of AMIStore and concentrated on getting a basic release out that is both stable and adequately functional.

Barring any major problems, the first public release candidate will be available in the next week or two. Our beta testers have today received the penultimate beta release before that release candidate is made available.
