You mean that is what was publically stated, right?

WinUAE 2.8.2 beta 9 with PPC

Tried and failed. UAE freezes when I run WarpOS applications.

Edit: I used bad CS rom...

Now PowerPC emulation works.

SysSpeed numbers (on Core i5-2500 3.3 GHz):
MIPS: 43.55
MFLOPS: 75.23

For comparison SysSpeed result of CyberstormPPC 604e 200 MHz:
MIPS: 271.47
MFLOPS: 179.23

It's wrong:

"Within the framework of the settlement agreement Hyperion is granted an exclusive, perpetual, worldwide right to AmigaOS 3.1 in order to use, develop, modify, commercialize, distribute and market AmigaOS 4.x (and subsequent versions of AmigaOS including without limitation AmigaOS 5) in any form, on any medium and for any current or future hardware Platform"

Tested little bit more:

ADoomWOS 1.7 works (freezes after some play, but emulation continues). There is problem with bus speed (must be set manualy), so benchmarking is not possible (I guess I get 15 FPS on notebook I use right now) - I think same problem affects also WarpHexen and WarpHeretic.

WarpQuake - runs, but emulation freezes when attempting to run demo.
QuakeWOS - freezes emulation.
AWinQuake - seems to be same bus speed problem (PPC emulation crashes, 68k continues).
WarpSNES - runs and crashes.
lamewos3.98.4 - crashes entire emulation.

It seems there is rapid progress with emulation since PowerUp kernel is working now.

That's a public statement however based on actions I would say it seems false.
The only thing ever seen was the stipulated settlement not the final one.

There is also rumor that Amino never got the rights for anything beyond powerpc in the first place. If Amino never had the right to branch off to different architectures then Hyperion would not be able to do it now.

You can read terms of September 30 2009 Settlement Agreement yourself.

They marketed OS3.9 - not PowerPC I think.

Edit: What about AmigaDE - that is multiplatform software.

"STIPULATED JUDGMENT"

IE a legal judgement however Hyperions rights still stem from what Amino actually owned. So lets say for example maybe Gateway never sold AmigaOS to Amino and merely licensed it for a specific platform say PowerPC. I that case Hyperion would not be able to branch off to another architecture. And lets say Acer now owns the rights to AmigaOS and are looking to revoke the original license from gateway. Where would that leave Hyperion?

Don't be sorry. It's my fault for posting a link intended for inclusion in the history of Amiga. I would assume he had a source for his information, given the 10 years of work on the topic. *shrug*

@terminills

I see you added to your posting.

If you want to continue the discussion please take it to thread I linked to previously.

WinUAE is that rare topic that seems to have garnished a lot of interest and we owe it some respect.

Thanks.

With recommended settings (no UAExx devices), emulation seems to be more stable (ADoomWOS runs longer before freeze), still no luck in runing other games. Some smaller utils/demos seem to work (IdleWOS, Voxelrace). Frodo runs, but I didn´t tried any games yet.

@pavlor

It is not always even emulation's fault because often games didnt work properly even on real Amiga.

Im courious to know how much it gave in performances.

This was my Cyberstorm PPC 604e 366@mhz

@PPC emulation...

It might be interesting to see a poll of how fast x86/x64 computer people have in their household...

Often I see it mentioned how fast g3 emulation can be done on the fastest and most expensive i7 PCs.
Do all people have i7?

My 2year old x64 (3.8Ghz FX4300) can run PPC code roughly at the speed of nintendo Wii. (slower than my slowest MOS HW, faster than my SAM440)

(for Intel system one must have more than 100eur extra vs 4ghz AMD)

Intel Core i7-4790K ("Devil's Canyon") + AMD Radeon HD R9-290 (AeroCool DS case, Win81).

Intel Core i7-3635QM (Ivybridge) + AMD Radeon HD 8870M (laptop, Win8.1).

I'm look forward for future AmigaForever package updates.

See my post above (102).

Your 604e 366 MHz is really fast! 10 times faster than 604e 200 MHz? Strange...
