@Everblue

A special OEM deal will with worked out with A-Cube so you can go ahead and order that SAM460.

This was discussed some time ago.

Things like AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition do not come out of nowhere. Countless ISO's were produced by Carl M. and subsequently turned out to have missing features, wrong libraries etc.

This was hard work for which we cannot thank Costel and Carl sufficiently!

@wawa

That decision was made many weeks ago. In fact, everyone who owns an AmigaOne from Eyetech, a SAM from A-Cube (be it 440 or 460) or even an AmigaX1000 (lucky bastards) will already have paid an OEM license fee in the past.

So no changing of mind involved.

Future systems will ofcourse ship with AmigaOS 4.1 Final OEM.

@Hyperionmp

I was wondering about the Radeon HD driver version that will be included on the Sam460cr version . the original CD version only supports cards up to the HD4000 series .

so in other words you are saying, tat the market has been saturated anyway and it makes no difference if the update requires purchase of a previous version of os or not. the only ones that might buy os4.1 yet, without owning a copy, are the remaining 4.0 users like me and the new uae users? correct?

@wawa

Saturated market or not; A full OS from one install is very userfriendly.

back on subject of amiwest, except of running linux and booting os4 on x5k hardware, was there any proof of any current or promised developments actually presented, or were they actually only been mentioned or announced as usual?

@Hyperionmp
Do you mean if I buy the new Sam460CR as soon as they put it on the store (they are already a bit late with it) it will be shipped with OS4.1 Final included with the board for just 30 euro for the OS?

Thanks!

@wawa

Always looking at the negatives.

For me its a hobby.

Amikit, AEON, Hyperion, Jens, Toni, AmigaForever, ka1se, and many others keeps it somewhat alive and intresting.

I still only got A1200/30 hardware, but find NG development intresting to follow, and I do hope they manage to balance cost and income.

it depends on which developments you're talking about. i did a demo of OS4.1 final edition this morning; the new radeonHD drivers and video players were demoed; the cyrus boards were at the show working; amistore was demoed and is working....

was there something you're specifically looking for news on?

@eliyahu

so..
the updated shell is confirmed,
cyrus bards is confirmed working,
radeon-hd update is working,
and amistore is working.

these are facts so far. everything else remains what it was since years, very close to release.

@eliyahu

Could you answer this specific question from Spectre660? (Or maybe I missed the answer)

"I was wondering about the Radeon HD driver version that will be included on the Sam460cr version. The original CD version only supports cards up to the HD4000 series."

How about OS4.1 Final Version? Will it include the currently "pay for" Radeon HD Drivers? I assume including the updated Radeon HD drivers might be a tricky one?
