They wrote faster than qemu! Not faster than "qemu-usermode"! This is a difference which matches the 4x faster statement.

Then read again:
"We took QEMU user mode emulator and compared its performance with the performance of Eltechs ExaGear Desktop."
Sounds quite clear to me that the stats following refer to a comparism between qemu user mode vs. exagear.

@Daytona675x
OK you won they named it. They didn't in their press releases.
Anyway.. the video still looks like qemu-usermode launched from a script called exagear.

--fishy websites:
yes because they look as if it is a site of mine : ) (unfinished and confusing) : D
To be honest at least it looks cleaner ; )

At least you know that there is
http://wiki.winehq.org/ARM
Follow it and you can have what exagears will sell "maybe" anytime soon right now.
And for free.

I'd like to clarify some question as representative of Eltechs.

ExaGear is developed from the scratch and don't use any sources from qemu.
When we compare results with qemu we use qemu-user

The only real use for this that i see is for run wine. After all, there isn't all linux x86 apps compiled for ARM? if not then there are the source code. there are only a few commercial not open source apps for linux after all

Skype, old-school games on the spot.

apparently some brilliant russian master coders who don't waste too much time working on their homepage wrote an emulator that kicks ass and beats qemu.

@pUnK

Welcome and thanks for the clarification!

According to the Wired article it smells just like the subject says: "incredible news". More that 40% (even 80%) performance of native code is surely a state of the art piece of code.

If your company will have enough success in the future on ARM, please look at our PPC cpu and do it again with Amiga OS :)

Bye!

Ok when can I check it? Of course I will pay a license.
About your solitaire statement:
It is wrong. If you check wine mailing list you will learn that they could run even office on a n900 or pandora.
About ppc:
People did it as well but it workes only with a version of wine prior to 1.x because they changed something regarding pthreads. Can be found on wine mailing list an was highly actively worked on in 2006.

Can you make a video showing something like office?
I would like to test it. If it is better than Qemu as you say I would like to license it for use in aeros.
When will it be available?
Anyway if you say the truth I have to apologize(and I blamed my self). The fact that you care about a amigaforum doesn't make it more serious : )
Don't take it personal. In ppc osx land thing which started "similar" to this have fooled people. It reminded me to them a bit from the overall style.

At all:
Wine translates windows API calls to linux API calls. This can not be ported to amigaos because amigaos is not unix. A port is not possible. (Just a side note because sometimes people wish it)

But a ppc linux would make sence to exagear because ppc is much stronger in server world than arm.

This month. Everything is written on http://eltechs.com/product/exagear-desktop/. There you can make pre-order to be informed about launch.

I've check it. It is not so reliable and useful. Anyway they use qemu and it would be much more slower.

This would be great.
About preordering:
I am interested in licensing it for aeros (www.aeros-os.org). Specifically for amiqube.
If you tell the truth about performance you won a friend : )

Really we deeply tested only Ubuntu. But aeros and ubuntu based on debian. So probably exagear will work on aeros with minor limitations.

No problemo, besides unity there should be not much difference.

Hi! I'm pleased to inform you that Eltechs has launched ExaGear Desktop. Currently we accept payments through PayPal http://eltechs.com/product/exagear-desktop

Is there anybody who already tried it? You are welcome to leave your feedback.

@punk
Yeah i am willing to test : )
I planned to add wine in next AEROS for ARM so if your exagear is better I will add this (reads= license deal possible)

While obviously the odroid or amiqube Versions will offer more cpu grunt.
But see here:
Wine + usermode works on pi
http://raspberrywine.blogspot.de/

Edit:
Ok pi is out because it offers not the required instructions.
So Qemu + wine are the only way to run windows apps on it.
