I just came back from AmiWest with afresh install of AOS4.1 update 6 and I'm trying to connect to Internet, but so far I'm having no success.

This is what I am geeting in the WB screen Dialer 53.2:
Adding Interface: PPC460EX_ETH - please wait .....
Interface "PPC460_EX_ETH added.
Trying interface "PPC460EX_ETH" configuration
AddNetInterface: Interface "PPC460EX_ETH" configuration attempt time out.

I have tried my LAN connection with another computer PC and it is working fine.

Any suggestions?

@WeiXing3D

Check Internet prefs/Routes/Default Gateway Address.
It should be your router's address.

Anyway give more detail on current network config.

@Lazi

Sys:Prefs/Internet:

Interfaces > Name PPC460EX_ETH Driver ppc460ex_eth.device
Routes > Default Gateway Address shows correct address 192.XXX.1.1
Domain Name (Name Resolution) 255.255.255.0

Anything else?Quote:

@WeiXing3D

Domain Name (Name Resolution) 255.255.255.0

Set this to the same as default gateway.

Matched that config using my own settings, but now I get
[error]: Could not add route from DEVS:Internet/routes, line 6 (Object exists).

Got rid of error by deleting that nternet connection. I created a new one, but I am back to square one. No luck.

@WeiXing3D

Are you using static IP or DHCP?
Is the connection led on the router lit for the Amiga cable?

Edit:typo

led on the router is lit for the Amiga cable. Tested cable and router with another PC

Settings in my other PC are:
IP Address 192.168.1.10
Mask 255.255.255.0
Gateway 192.168.1.1

Could you please confirm, now that you have all y network settings, which are the entries I must have in each of the tabs in the Internet Preferences (TCP/IP), i.e. Interfaces, Routes, Hosts, Name Resolution, etc.?

EDIT FOR UPDATE:
I'm having doubts about the reliability of the wall mount network extender that I'm using; it's unstable. But if you could help me with the settings for the Internet Preferences I would be able to make sure that they are right. Thank you in advance for your help.

@Lazi

I solved my physical lan connection problem and I can connect to the Internet now, but I'm getting the following message after booting:

Mon Oct 27 11:44:16 2014 [error]: Could not add route from 'DEVS:Inetrnet/routes", line 4 (Network is unreachable).

How can I fix this?

@WeiXing3D

Open Sys:Prefs/Internet, click on "Routes". In the Default Gateway Address box, enter your gateway address & save.

You can find your gateway address by opening a shell & typing shownetstatus.

@sundown
This what I show:
Network Status Summary
Local host address: 192.168.0.38 (on interface SAM460EX_ETH)
Default Gateway address: (Not Configured)
Domain name system servers: 75.75.75.75, 75.75.76.76, 75.75.75.75, 75.75.76.76, 192.168.1.10

BTW, I am using the Network wizard to create this new connection.

@WeiXing3D,
it's better if you dont use the internet wizard, use Prefs->Internet instead
but before proceding you may remove all the connections that probabily
you created, unfortunately I am away from my amiga now and dont
remember where they are stored

The wizard never worked for me, always set it up with Internet Prefs.

If you look on your router, there should be an IP # 192.168.x.x, mine is 192.168.1.254. Thats the magic # to get the network going, find it & post here.
